Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #267 Assembly Line Card Making

This week's technique for the Make it Monday challenge involves assembly line card making.  Laurie has a wonderful video demonstrating how to make duplicate cards easily.  Check it out here. I needed to make several items for our upcoming church craft and bake sale.  So I decided to use Laurie's tips to make some Elf treats using PTI's Dress up Dolls: Elves.

I got the bags from the Dollar Tree.  I filled them with 12 kisses and added the topper printed out on my computer using Georgia Pacific cardstock.    I stapled the bags shut then used my ATG to attach the toppers to my bag.  I found it is easiest to attach the back first then fold the front over and attach last.

I got the cute little poem from My Creative Corner.    The poem reads:
With Little elf eyes watching you,
There's not a lot that Santa misses,
 So to help you be good today,
Here's a bunch of sweet Elf kisses.

 I embossed the bottom of the treat topper with little an X border to reinforce the kiss theme. 

My son turns 13 on Thursday and he is big into "potty humor" so I had to do a boy version for him.

I got the poem from Paper Crafts by Candace.  The poem reads:
I hear you've been naughty,
So listen, here's the scoop.
All you get for Christmas,
is this bag of Elf Poop!

I didn't think an X border was appropriate here so I just did diagonal slashes.

I got the color ideas from Kay Miller.   She made some adorable projects using these elves.  Check them out here.  I used Prismacolor pencils blended with Gamsol.  I am totally amazed at how easily the Gamsol blended away the pencil lines.  It made coloring very enjoyable!  The only thing I found difficult was doing the little stripes on the tights.  I have since bought a smaller blending stump so that should make blending easier for future projects.  I goofed when I was coloring so I have a few other versions to share.  Oh and I stamped the images on the little insert sheet that tells the color names of the cardstocks.  It's a little thinner than the Stamper's Select white I usually use but for this project I didn't want so many layers of thick cardstock so those inserts worked perfectly!

I added some white iridescent Stickles to the pom pom on the hat.

I borrowed a gold gel pen from my daughter to add some sparkle to the buckle, bottom of the girl's dress and buttons.   I apologize for the bad photos...I should have taken them in the daylight but I didn't finish them up until it got dark and would miss the deadline for the challenge if I waited.

I got these dress up dolls for my daughter to play with. She is loving coloring in the images but I have to say I am loving them too!   They have soo many cute outfits!  If these sell well I will do another version for the Spring craft show.  They have a cute little bunny outfit for the dolls to dress up in!
