Just the Basics, vacations membership, and CDT creations.

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying your Summer. It is glorious not to have to tote everyone to school and not having to bundle them up for cold weather. I'm looking forward to a 4th July picnic. It gives me an excuse to be off my diet for a day! LOL! I love firework photos too so that is another bonus of this holiday. Let Freedom Ring!

I know many of us are struggling with finances lately. So I created a file collection that contains all the cutter files you use the most in scrapbooking and card making at a grand price. My Creative Design Team has been busy being very creative lately and I'd like to share with you some of their wonderful projects.




Would you believe both ladies used my 3-D butterflies file to achieve two totally different but grand looking cards? Lisa actually cut out two butterflies one in cardstock and the other out of acetate then stamped it and added jewels to the body to achieve a very elegant look. Click on the preview below to purchase the butterflies. Elizabeth cut the butterfly out of yellow cardstock plus the included butterfly accent out of white. She then added doodles with a black pen. She used my bracket fun file also (scroll up to see the preview of that file). The embossed paper paired with the doodled butterfly and inked brackets gives her card a very whimsical fun look!

LOL!

My name is Christine McFall. I started scrapbooking 9 years ago, when my oldest Granddaughter was born. Now I enjoy scrapbooking, card making, altering items, making mini photo book, cross stitching and quilting. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 2 years. I have 2 grown children, Cassidy, who lives in Florida with her husband and my 2 Granddaughters (Taylor-9 and Hailey-5), and a son, Jamie, who lives here, in Colorado, with us. I am step Mom to Joshua, who lives in Texas. I am also a pet Mommy to 2 cats, Killer and Stella. My Hubby travels a lot for his job, so I stay busy crafting, and maintaining 2 Blogs and a Message Board!"

The wonderful clock below uses the tulips from my Think Spring file. I just love how she turned a inexpensive clock into a great piece of art.



Christine made a great picture frame using my Festive Twig file. Not only is this frame great looking...it's very practical too. The eggs are attached with velcro and can be removed and replaced with stars for the 4th of July. The file comes with many ornaments that will allow you to decorate your frame all year round!



The fabulous, sparkly card uses my playful, flowers, leaves and vines and dotted fun sentiments files. Look closely..she did some wonderful machine stitching on the front of the card.




Here is another outside of the box project. Christine applied the flowers from my flowers, leaves and vines file to design a marvelous plaque.

New files, CDT member Sandra Allred, coupon, freebie

Hi everyone,
I have a few new files in my store so you can ready for Easter early this year.

First up is the festive twig tree. This little tree will take you through all the holidays and seasons of the year. Simply choose the shape you want and copy it as many time you'd like to adhere to your twig tree. This file was designed to fit perfectly on a 5" x 7" card. Please keep in mind you can also use the shapes on other paper crafting projects. The ghost would be perfect on a Halloween invitation. The flower would look great on a girly scrapbook page. Also, it is easy to add other files to this tree. The jingle bell or ornament from my build a wreath file would look great adhered to this twig tree. Click on the preview to purchase the file.



Next is the Build an Easter Egg. This file has so many choices! This file makes it easy to make many different Easter themed eggs. All the patterned eggs cut as overlays which you place a solid egg underneath thus the color combos are endless! In addition to the egg overlays it comes complete with a basket, plain eggs, and flowers to decorate your basket. You could even decorate the basket further by adding the bow from my festive twig tree file to the basket handle. This looks great on a card or to decorate a gift bag. I'd like to announce another very creative member of my Creative Design Team.
Sandra Allred. I'm am so happy she agreed to be a part of my team as you will see when you scroll down she is amazingly talented!

Here are a few words Sandra had to say to introduce herself!

"My name is Sandra Allred. I'm 48. I’m married and have a teenage son. I'm a native Carolinian. Born in South Carolina and moved to North Carolina after college. I met my husband in Sunday school at church :-). I work part-time (actually about 3/4 time) at a major utility company. I’ve worked since college and can't wait to retire. Would have a long time ago if hubby didn't insist I work - lol. We attend a Baptist church where I teach 2 year old Sunday school and missions and chaperone the youth on occasion.

I have scrapbooked for 13 years (stamping and card making not quite as long). I purchased my wishblade in spring of 2007 but didn’t really start using it until spring of 2008. I am in the process of purchasing a used KNK. My style varies depending on what I am making. Typically my scrapbook pages are simple and clean cut. I will “step out of my box” when doing cards and altering items.

I love to have fun and tease and my feelings are not hurt easily."

This layout using my Circle and Wave layout file. I just love how she used that surfboard paper!

This layout uses my paint roller file. I just love how Sandra randomly brushed paint on the paper for her background. The paint can file is from Visual Designs by Chris..see her website in her left sidebar. However, I also have a paint can file. See it here.

This layout uses my alphabet charm letters :Uppercase file. I love the simple clean look of this layout. I tend to go overboard with embellishments and I admire those who know when enough is enough!

This card uses my I love you card file. I just love Sandra's choice of papers.

You may have notice little metal charms in Sandra's projects. Well Sandra is definitely a charm lover! She even enticed me to by some charms from her favorite store A Charming Place. Now if I can just remember to use them! I have many more projects to share but I'm sure you are getting tired of this lengthy post...so I'll share them later.

Happy St. Paddy's Day!, CDT member Kelly Stone, DSO color Freebie

Hi Everyone,
Are you shocked? I'm posting once again and it's only been a few days since my last post! LOL!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I have a great card in honor of the Holiday Deb Cole made. She used my
I Love You Card file. However, she put a very creative twist on it by turning the heart button into a clover! How clever is that!


I promised to announce my Creative Design Team so I'm back today to announce Kelly Stone. She is a very talented! She is best know for her attention to detail and her love of embossing. Below is a photo of Kelly and a few words about herself.

"My name is Kelly Stone and I will be 33 this March. I am happily married and work full-time with my husband running a small computer store. Currently it is just us and our 3 cats, but we are hoping to expand our family this year. We live in upstate NY, although each cold winter we talk about moving further south. (Maybe someday . . . LOL). I own a blue Wishblade and KNK Studio GE. I am an avid card maker and really enjoy the sketch challenges at Paperthreads that Shelly hosts. They are a great source of inspiration. I have done a few scrapbook layouts, and I am hoping to do more this year. I am delighted to be a member of Shelly's Creative Design Team."

This card uses my Cupcake Card file and Sentiments Variety File. I love the sparkles and embossing! I actually designed this file to be used independently as a shaped card but Kelly had a fabulous idea of putting it on a rectangle card.

The card below also uses the cupcake file and sentiments variety file. This time however, Kelly made the cupcake much smaller. What a great idea!




This card uses my alphabet charm letters file for the inside of the card and also Paperthreads Designs Swirly Flower Block for the front. I have to say I never thought to add any of my files to the inside of cards...it looks great though!



Last, this card used my build a snowman file and Christmas word charms file. I love all the snowflake patterns on this one.




As you can see Kelly does excellent work and I'm so proud to have her on my team!

St. Paddy's Day Sale, CDT, and Freebie

Oh shucks! It looks like I've neglected my blog again! I'm so sorry! I know you don't want to hear my never ending apologies so let's go on to the good stuff. I even have a freebie for digital scrappers if you can endure this enormous post!

First off I have a sale currently running in my store at Paperthreads. Hurry it ends on St. Paddy's day! Click on the blinkie to be taken to my store.

I have a very popular new file in the store. It is great for the bird craze that has hit the paper crafting world.
It is called birds of a feather. It is great because all pieces cut separately so you can mix and match legs, wings, eyes to make your unique bird.

I have a wonderful collapsible box with ties that is so versatile and so easy to make. It would work great for storing all those little tiny embellishments like dew drops, buttons, and even glitter glue. I also think it would make a great little Easter basket for a teacher. It is perfect for photos of little ones playing with that famous colored dough. I will give you more details about this kit once it hits the store and also I have a freebie add on too!



I've been neglecting to tell you all about my Creative Design Team long enough. So without further ado I will announce at least one member now and then more each day until I announce them all.


Please welcome Laury Vaden! She is an absolutely amazing lady with so much talent. She is a whiz who sometimes helps me with my files when I get stuck. She comes to my rescue many times to make my files the best they can be. I'm so delighted to have her on my team! Here are a few words Laury would like to share about herself.

"I have always been surrounded by art. I grew up in a home
where the walls were fi lled with oils and watercolors. Some of
my parents close friends were artist. My best friend’s father was
an artist. My nursery school teacher’s husband was an artist. We lived 2 miles from Mystic Connecticut where each year I
attended the annual Mystic Art Festival.
I am a painter, quilter, weaver, spinner, computer artist, tatter, knitter, fabric designer, jewelry designer etc. My work is as
diverse as the media I work in. I have been advised to focus. I
get bored. I love to learn new techniques; new ways of creating
beauty. I am entranced and amazed by the uniqueness of each
media/technique. I love texture and color. My first painting class was in Uba, Brasil. I continued my art training at Vanderbilt University where I studied drawing and
painting. I have a BS in Computer Science from Vanderbilt
University and an MS from the University of Illinois Chicago
campus. When I turned 40 I studied with Natalie McKay
in Flemington. I have taken classes at the Somerset Art
Association and I am currently working my way through the art
classes at RVCC. I have shown work at the Petite Gallery in Clinton, NJ, the
Highland Park 2007 Art Festival, and at Over Th e Moongate in
Highland Park where I was part of a 3 person show
March 8, 2008.
I am currently exploring printing with the intent
of not only learning and creating but of also
documenting my experiments. I am also currently learning and designing
for my Craft Robo which I recently
purchased last October 2008. I look forward to working with
Shelly’s Art.

Here are a few projects she designed using my files. This adorable card uses the birds of a feather file mentioned above. Don't you just love the jewel eyes!




The beautiful card below is of Laury's own design but does use my elegant sentiments file.


This is a card Laury did for the card sketch challenge I host on Paperthreads. I think the removable bookmark is an excellent idea! It used my playful flowers, branches and leaves file.



The card below uses my clothes line baby girl file. I just love the quilted work she did with the pen tool and the bright colors.



I have many more works from her but this post is getting quite long so I'll share them later.
