Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop

Yipee..it's time for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  How it works is PTI gives us an inspiration photo and we make a project using that photo for inspiration.

Isn't that photo gorgeous!  I would definitely want to attend that party!

I knew the minute I saw the photo I just had to play with the navy stripes.  So I cut strips of this pretty blue shimmer paper.  The shimmer is soo pretty in real life.  I did try and photograph it for you:

Photos just doesn't do it justice!  I was inspired by this wonderful card by Dawn McVey!  I have never done a card where an element stuck out past the card front!  I do love how it turned out!

I stamped PTI's rosie posie  large rose in (PTI)hibiscus burst accented with R85 Copic marker and small rose with (PTI)sweet blush accented with R83 Copic marker.  The leaves were stamped with (Memento) bamboo leaves accented with YG93 Copic markers.  "Happy" is from PTI honey bees and "Mother's day" is from PTI happy day

I added the gold shimmer paper behind the blue stripe because of the gold fork in the photo.  I'm not sure I'm loving it though.  I think if it was more of a brassy instead of this yellow gold I would like it better.  Thus..I added the gold sequins hoping to tie in the gold better.  Oh and the card base is hibiscus burst.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please come back again!

Beautiful, Shelly! Stripes and Rosie Posie were both popular for this challenge. Lots of great inspiration for future cards.
