40% off sale continues, Easter projects and cute kids!

Howdy,
Are you ready for Easter?  You know I am slowly getting there but the rain will totally depend on what I still need to do yet.  We wanted to have an egg hunt here at home but if it rains...not sure if we will bother hiding them in the house or not.  I'm sooo tired of rain..we've had more than enough to bring on the May flowers.   So three cheers for a sunny, rain free Easter weekend!

I am having an Easter sale which means 40% off all my designs now through the 24th.  (Sorry my membership is not included in the sale).  Click here to go shopping.  In case you need some inspirations I do have a few Easter projects to share with you.

Take a look at the adorable card CDT Kelly made using my Build a Bunny and Easter Egg Two files.  Kelly added great texture to the card using embossing folders.  She also used embroidery floss to add the whisker details.  I just love the bunny's head and paws only peeking over that title square.  You could easily add him to the top of a photo in a similar way.  If you'd like to purchase either of these files click on the words above the previews.

Build a Bunny
also available in my quarterly membership club

Build an Easter Egg Two
also available in an Easter Collection

I have a feeling Tyler may not believe in the Easter Bunny next year.  He is 7 but has already said one of his friends told him the Tooth Fairy wasn't real.  Anyway, we wanted to do something extra special for his Easter basket from the Easter Bunny this year.  So......

I cut out some eggs from my Build an Easter Egg file.  I enlarged them to about 4 inches and added some glitter glue.  Kids just love glitter!  Then.....

I flipped the eggs over and am printing messages on them.  I will hide them throughout the house as per the messages and ultimately the last egg will show the location of the Easter basket.   So the first green egg will be given to the kids and the next egg will be in the TV stand and the next egg will be in the microwave and so on.  Tyler just loves reading so he can read and he and Adoree can take turn finding the "clue" eggs.   I think they will both enjoy the hunt and it will be more fun than just plopping the basket on the table for them to find when they awaken in the morning.   I only did 4 eggs so they don't get too bored with the game.  If you'd like to purchase my egg file to make your own game click on the words above the preview.  OH I just thought of something you could even cut two of each egg and make a memory game of sorts with them for a cheap quick Easter basket stuffer.

Build an Easter Egg

For those of you who do not wish to purchase my membership.  I do have some of the individual files in my store now and they are included in my sale.  Keep in mind though you get all of these files plus more for a total of at least 20 files for just $10.00...a great value!  You also get advance notice of sales and membership club members get the files long before they enter my store.  Click here to purchase my membership or click on the individual words below to purchase the files separately.   Oh and you can see the files in the slide show to the right of my blog.

Curly Carrot Box

Tent Card:  Jungle

Card Base 6:  Tag Card

Tyler had his first Derby car race a few weeks ago for Cub Scouts.  Unfortunately, his car was too light to win.  At least now he knows what to do for next year. The boy that won had bought special wheels for his car.  Apparently, you can buy many products to jazz up these cars and it can get quite expensive!

Even though Tyler didn't win..he still loves his car.  I cut a skull I had designed for a card for him a few years ago.  I made it much smaller and cut it out of vinyl for the front of it.  He added a lego guy, seat and steering wheel with glue dots.  As you can see in the photos he was very happy to have helped Daddy create this car.

I just have one more photo to share with you.  It's just too cute to keep to myself!

This wasn't the cutest one as that one came out blurry but I still think this one is great!   See Adoree gave up naps about a year ago.  However, on occasion when she has a cold and doesn't sleep well at night she will lay down for a nap.  On weekends Tyler loves putting Adoree down for a nap.  He loves reading her a story and rocks her.  Sometimes he even sings her a song.  He is such a sweet boy and he has already mentioned to us he wishes we had another baby so he could feed snuggle with it.  (Well another addition to our family is NOT in our future).  Adoree isn't always accepting of his hugs and kisses so when she does cooperate...Tyler is thrilled!  Unfortunately, Adoree is very tall for being almost 4 (her birthday is in May).  So she doesn't fit on Tyler's lap very well.  Nevertheless they seem to really be enjoying each other's company in this photos..making it priceless so I just had to share it!

So what did you give up for lent?  After talking to our church friends I know many of them are looking forward to indulging in what they gave up soon.  Hubby gave up chocolate and I have a feeling the kids may be sharing their basket treats!  LOL!  I wasn't brave enough to give up chocolate but I did give up Chai tea.  I get this instant mix in which all I have to do is add water.  It is sooo good and I miss it.  I usually drink it for breakfast since it is quite filling and as Adoree said it's my relaxing tea.  I love to just  drink it after a busy morning and sip is slowly.  Mmmm I can't wait!   Tyler gave up watching Sponge Bob on TV.  I know he is looking foward to doing that again too!  I'll probably be sick of SpongeBob by the end of the day!

Enjoy your Easter weekend and remember NO RAIN!  Say it with me NO RAIN!

Easter Sale 40% off all my files, tent card treat sac tut and freebies

Howdy,
I hope you are all in the Easter spirit!  You know I figured since Easter is later this year I'd be totally prepared for it...NOT!  I have many ideas of what I want to do and hope to accomplish some of them this weekend.  Well just in case you aren't ready for Easter either Laury (fellow PT designer-Just Laury) and I are having a sale 40% off all our designs (my membership club is excluded...sorry!).  The sale runs now 4/16/2011 through 4/24/2011 EST.    I have many Easter files but since everything is one sale why not check out some of my digital kits, digital stamps or cutter files by clicking here and Laury's store is here.  Before you find some Easter treats in our stores keep reading....I promise you there will be a freebie or two if you can hang in there!

Treat tent:  strawberry digital stamp (found here) colored with Copic markers and cut with Nestabilities. Card: Card Base 7, sentiments from strawberry digital stamp and strawberry freebie cutter file provided by Just Laury on her blog here).    I did add paper glaze to the strawberry to make it extra juicy and flocking to the stem.   Below you will see the same project but this time I printed out the strawberry digi that Laury had colored and sent to me via e-mail.

I recently put a strawberry digital stamp in my store.  I thought it would be nice to do up some projects with it.  However, I didn't have any paper ( and no scrapbooking or craft store near) so I made some digitally and printed them out to use in my projects.  (Psst...keep reading to find out how you can get these papers for FREE).  The card I used above is file #10 in my membership club.  It comes with a cutting file aiding in making a pleated border.  I love that the cutter puts the score lines in the exact places without any measuring needed!
I have updated my slide show to the right depicting all the files entered in my membership so far.  If you do indeed decide to purchase my membership.  You will get at least 10 more files in addition to the ones shown.  Click here to purchase my membership.

The other project you see above is actual a treat tent.  I took one of the tent card being offered in my membership and added a few things to it to make it hold some yummy treats.  I'd like to show you just how I did that in a pictorial tut below.  One thing about these treat tents is they will hold larger sized snacks so you could even make some homemade cookies to throw in them.

1.  You need to follow the instructions in the tent card file to assemble the base.  I chose not cut the window
in the card since I wanted to add my strawberry digi to the front.  However, if you'd like your treats to peek out go ahead and cut the window opening too.  The scalloped rectangle (provided free later in this post) and a little ribbon is all you really need to turn my tent card file into a treat tent.

2.  Place glue as indicated on the scalloped rectangle piece.

3.  Adhere rectangle to the back of the tent card so it acts as a flap to close the treat tent.

4.  Mark where to put the holes in the treat tent front.

5.  Punch holes at your marks.

6.  Glue treats to the inside of your treat tent.

7.  Thread ribbon through the holes pulling it out the front of the treat tent.

8.  Now thread ribbon through holes in front flap.

9.  That's basically it!  Just tie your ribbon into a bow and decorate.  Easy peasy strawberry squeezy...LOL!

Here you can see the side of the treat tent.  It stand on it's own and make a great gift!  Remember you can fill these with things other than food like say some brads, eyelets, ribbon for a paper crafter.  I can picture it filled with hair accessories for a girl or baseball cards for a boy.  You could put my Chickie Digi on the front and fill the treat tent with a few Easter chocolates and maybe a gas card for older kids who still deserve a treat but think they are too old for Easter baskets.

Okay I guess I've gabbed enough!  Now on to the freebies!

Above you'll see a preview of the papers I am about to give you absolutely FREE.  Grab 'em quick though as they will go into my store for purchase after the weekend.  They were created digitally and of course can be used for digital scrapbooking and card making but...I made them at 300 dpi resolution which means they can be printed out and used just as I did for my projects at the beginning of this post.  Because of the size of these papers I have broken them up into 3 zip files for faster download times.  Be sure to download all three to get the complete set.  Oh and please remember that these fall under the rules of my TOU provided in the zip file.  I ask that you direct people to my blog to get these freebie rather than share them amongst yourselves please.
Sorry papers no longer available as a freebie...look for it in my store soon!

Click HERE to download the treat topper.  AI, GSD, KNK, SVG and WPC formats included in the zip.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed the project and that I have inspired you to add creativity to your life today!  Have a fabulous weekend!  I know I will as Elizabeth is coming to see me!

Strawberries for Easter? !?

Hi everyone,
Easter is coming...that means, eggs, bunnies, church duds, lilies, and strawberries!  HUH!?  Well my strawberry digital stamp is now in the store.  So...I showed a project I had made with it to fellow Paperthreads designer Laury of Just Laury.  It inspired her to make up a bunch of strawberries cutter files.  We are joining forces and have an Easter sale on all our designs running 4/16/2011 through 4/24/2011 (my membership file is excluded).  Along the way we decided to share with you some strawberry filled projects.  Check out a preview of Laury's projects on her blog here.  Below is a sneak peek at my projects.

The item with my strawberry digi stamp on it is an actual treat tent.  I will share with you step by step photos on how to transform my Tent Cards currently available through my membership into treat sacs this weekend.  The card uses Laury's strawberry and card base 7 (a membership file being posted tomorrow).

I don't live near any scrapbooking or craft stores but I wanted strawberry themed papers to match my digital stamp.  So...I made some digitally and printed them out for my project above.  I will be offering these free for a limited time this weekend so please come back if you are interested.

Have a great evening or day depending on what part of the world you call home!

Is it Spring? Is Easter really coming?

Howdy,
Well the calendar says Spring had sprung and I do see tulip and daffodil foliage popping out of the ground all around my yard, the birds are singing but.....where are the warmer temps?  I'm still cold and not going to put my Winter clothes away just yet.  It IS raining so that IS typical of Spring weather.   I can't wait for those tulips to bloom...soo refreshing and soo needed to boost the spirits with all the cold weather.  I know the kids are looking forward to playing outside often.  Adoree especially is happy when she is running free!  So has Spring arrived in your neck of the woods or is it a different season for you?  My Aussie pals...hope you guys are enjoying great Fall temps!

Well I think Spring is on the minds of my design team.  I'd love to share two projects using my 3-D butterflies file.  This file has been around since May of 2009 and yet time and time again it flys into many a project.  Time and time again...you guys amaze me with the creative way you use this file.  I have a feeling this one will never go out of style.

First up we have Shelly M's elegant card/tag using my Card Base 6 file.  It is currently only available through my quarterly membership club.  I love how she used one of my 3-D butterflies to hold the memorabilia decorations on her stunning card.  I don't know why but it seem I'm always gravitating towards pink and completely forget about blue.  I love it though..not to self...use blue more!  You've gotta click on the picture to make it larger so you can read the sentiment Shelly used.  It is great!

Below is a photo of the Card Base 6 Shelly used for her wonderful project.  It's amazing how different one file can look depending on what paper and embellishments you used.

If you look at previous posts you can see how I decorated the card in the preview.  Remember this file is only available through my Quarterly Membership.  It's a great little file as it's a card that resembles a tag.  So if you like this hurry on over and purchase my membership here.  It's an amzing deal as you get at least 20 files for only $10.00.  If you'd like to see what I have posted to the membership thus far..please look at the slide show to the right of this blog.

Next up CDT member Lisa was in a butterfly mood too.  She gave the butterfly a makeover by turning it into an easel card.  You must check it out below.  I just love her card and embossed envy.  The glitter and papers she used is just perfect..don't ya think!  Oh and the butterflies fold flat for mailing..how wonderful would it be to have these flutter into your mailbox!

If you'd like to try your hand at playing with my 3-D butterflies please click on the words above the preview to purchase.

3-D Butterflies

Well it can't be Spring without Easter.  So Sue is all about getting her grandson's Easter bucket ready.  That's right I said bucket.  Sue found soo many things she wanted to share with her grandson that she had to buy a bucket instead of a basket for him!  Hmmm could she be spoiling him?!  Well if you saw how cute he is....you'd spoil him too!  Sue used two of my files from membership to add to his bucket:  Build a Bunny and Curly Carrot Box.

Didn't Sue do a great job with my Easter files?  I love her whimsical bunny..the inking, glitter and one pink toe on each foot is a great touch.  Oh and shhhh don't tell Clay but Sue stuffed paper towels into the bottom of that carrot box so she didn't have to buy more tic tacs!  Gee you know that's pretty practical...after Clay gets done eating Sue can grab that paper towel to clean up his hands and face.  Brilliant thinking there Sue!
Below you can see the original files so you can see how Sue put her own special twist on them.

Remember you can only get these two files through my membership club so why not head on over and purchase today before Easter arrives!  Click here to purchase.  CDT member Kelly also put these files to use in fact she cut the bunny in my preview but Adoree is begging me to color with her so I'll think I'll do that now.  I promise I'll share Kelly's creations soon!

Have a fabulous weekend!
