Memorial Day Sale, masculine card, and Adoree's 4th birthday

I truly appreciation everything our military troops have done and continue to do for us.  I can not even begin to image what they have been through.  In honor of all brave men and woman everywhere I am having a sale.  All my designs are 30% off now through 5/30/2011 midnight EST.  My membership club isn't included in the sale since it has a built in discount already.  Click here to go shopping.

I host a sketch challenge each month on the Paperthreads forum.  I have a wonderful helping hand in this endeavor.  Aussie Caz creates these amazing sketches and provides participants with the cutter file and layered PSD to go along with the sketch.  This makes it super easy to make up a quick card.  So my Dad's birthday was coming up and I decided to use Caz's wonderful sketch as my guideline.

Please don't look at the tires!  I was coloring the wheels black and was having a hard time seeing where my stamped line was.  The more I messed with it the sadder looking the tires got.  I tried making them better with puff paint but they are still very sad looking.  Ahhh well it's an old truck right!  LOL!  Next time I will emboss the image before coloring and that should help the tires hold their shape!  I have a very hard time making masculine cards so I was very pleased with the way this one turned out!  I used my birthday tickets file  (only available through my membership) and stamped the sentiments. The sentiment stamps are called Paper Tray from Paper Trey Ink.    I added the brads to cover up a boo boo!  Silver puff paint and red were added to the car for more dimension.  A type of liquid paper glaze (similar to Diamond Glaze) was added to the window and head light to make them more realistic.  I colored the truck with Copic markers.  The truck is from Loads of Love by Stampin' Up.   I wish I owned the SU accessories set as my Dad would have loved the dogs sitting in the bed of the truck. Alas I  do not and didn't see any other stamps of mine that would work so I left the bed empty.  I used the Tim Holtz paper distresser to rough up the edges.

Above you can see the file I used for my ticket.  Currently, this is only available through purchasing my membership club.  It's not too late but you'd better hurry.  The files will no longer be in the membership as of June 1st.  Click here to purchase my membership.  Oh and you can see in the slideshow to the left of my blog all the files that you will get when you buy my membership.

We had Adoree's 4th birthday party last weekend.  She had a blast and guess what it didn't rain!  Yay!  The yard was a little muddy but at least people could sit outside instead of huddling on the porch.  I thought I'd share a few photos of the event with you.

I was going to share with you a picture of the cake but that was kinda boring. I like this photo better of Adoree enjoying her ice cream and Tyler inhaling the cake!  LOL!

As you might have seen in one of my previous posts Adoree got a foam crown for Easter but um....it fell in the toilet.  So Adoree was thrilled to get a new one along with a wand, necklace and mirror too.

The ladies of the church make these amazing quilts and sometimes Adoree and I go and help them.  So we had decided to have a quilt made for Adoree's bed.  She was all into this strawberry fabric she wanted.  So I ordered this great fabric from My Mind's Eye through the Sisters and Quilters store.   They shipped extra fast!   My Mom brought me the white fabric and I cut all the squares out and handed it over the experts.  I am not a sewer!  Adoree just loved it!

Above there is Adoree with her boyfriend and some of her loot!  LOL!  This is a neighbor of ours that Adoree loves to play with.

Okay it is lunch time!  So I've gotta run!  Have a great holiday weekend!
