Frugal Fridays: Alphabet Charms Letters $1.00 today only

Hi,
I do apologize for not posting this earlier.   It's not for a lack of trying just my software wasn't cooperating.  Okay now on to the special...

Today's Frugal Friday special is one that you'll get tons of use out of.   My alphabet charm letters file is on sale for $1.00 today only.  Hurry though the price will expire at midnight EST today (May 28, 2010).   This file is great for just about anything from cards to layouts even home decor.   You can attach the charms with brads, jewels or ribbon.
Click words below to purchase.

My CDT member Kelly is way ahead of the game!  She created this fabulous Father's Day card using this file.  I always struggle with masculine cards so I jump at the chance to case others!  Great job Kelly!  The letters and gears are cut from metallic vinyl.  The gears are from Jan's Itty Bitty Gears file.

Kelly wasn't the only one who was busy!  Carol and Sue have projects to show you too!  First up we have Carol's wonderful card.   She did it for Mother's Day but I bet you could easily change it up for Father's Day by changing out the flowers for stars or gears.    Carol used my Card Base 1 file.  Click words below if you'd like to purchase it.

Next up we have Sue.   She did an awesome layout of little boy whose face is very familiar to my blog!  Look at how much this little guy is garowing up!  I love seeing his stages of growth through Sue's projects.
Sue used my stitching template file and her favorite copper pen for the accent around the photo.   It looks great!  I love the buttons too.  If you'd rather use something less bulky I do have a buttons file you can cut with your cutter.

Tyler and I made a wonderful little car with Legos powered by a rubber band!  We bought him this great little book for Christmas that has Lego parts and step by step instructions on all kinds of little vehicles and gadgets you can build.  He just loves it!  He always wants to know how things work so he gets a kick out of seeing something built from scratch.   His favorite TV show is "How It's Made"!   When I look at Tyler's photo below I am amazed at how old he looks!  Gosh my little boy graduates from Kindergarten in a few weeks!  Where has time gone!

The peonies are just about done blooming so Adoree and I decided to cut a few to put in a vase.  You can see Adoree with one below.   When they first bloom they have light pink outer petals and creme centers but as they mature the whole flower turns white.  I get a kick out of her head gear!  Those are actually safety goggles that came in a tool kit Tyler got as a gift.  She wears them all the time.  She even wore them to church in the past!

My belly is rumbling something fierce so I guess that means this blog post is long enough!  LOL!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful memorial day weekend!

Frugal Fridays: $1.00 birthday banner, perfect pearls, and 30% off all my designs...Happy Birthday Adoree!

My little girl turned 3 yesterday.  I don't know where time has gone!  Where is the little bundle I carried in my arms!  Adoree is now a bundle of energy!  I didn't think you'd be very happy with 3% off all my designs so since Adoree has 10 x more energy then I.....I decided to take her age x 10 and give you 30% all my designs!  I do hope you'll join my celebration by stopping by my section of Paperthreads.  Click here to go shopping!  Don't forget I have certain files on special at even greater discounts good through the month of May.  Click here to see what I mean.

We always call my little girl a monkey.   Last year we had a monkey birthday party.  (This year is butterflies and flowers).   So I created this monkey banner.  I decided to make this banner the frugal Friday special for today.  Today only you can get my monkey banner file for $1.00.  Hurry though the price expires at midnight EST.  Click on the words to purchase.    You can easily use the letters on the banner for any themed party......not just monkeys!
Monkey banner

I'd like to share with you what Sue Shaff did with one of my newest files.  Rolled up flowers.  I just love how she used the gingham paper.   It gives the flowers such a unique look.....something I never ever would have thought of.  Great job Sue!

I am soo thrilled with this file and I can't wait to get a chance to put them to use on a card or layout.  They are super easy to make as the file cuts the petals on a long strip that you roll into a flower shape.  Super dimension in minutes.  Click the words below if you'd like to purchase.   I used vanilla colored cardstock and distress inks for the flowers in the preview.  I  think they would look lovely with spritz with glimmer mist or the edges outlined in glitter.

I did get a chance to craft a few cards.  It was fast and super easy using a good friend and fellow Paperthreads Designer's file.  Shirley designed a file in which you can cut peices with your cutter.....follow her easy instructions and in minutes you have a matching set of 5 cards!  I had three Mom's Day cards and two for the Shirley's RAK done in no time!

Click here if you'd like to purchase Shirley's file and make some super fast cards yourself!  She also has a few more kits to choose from if you don't care for this design.  Kit 2, kit 3.  What made my cards even easier is I used one of my favorite kits from Transparent Touches.  I'm a sucker for the pink and brown color combo and the addition of orange is a geat accent.   I had fun using the various rub ons, stickers, and colored  chipboard pieces incuded in the kit.   It left  me time to experiment with charms, glitter, crackle paint, liquid glass and perfect pearls to enhance my cards.    I'm not sure but there may be still some of this kit available for purchase.  Click here

These cards look much better in person as the photos just don't do them justice.  So..I'd like to share with you one additonal photo of a technique I used.

I used a cuttlebug folder  and then dabbed clear embossing all over the cardstock.  Then I dusted copper perfect pearls powder over the whole piece.  This almost looks like metal to me.  I will definitely be using this technique again.

Okay time for lunch and I must clean big time before the party!
Have a fabulous weekend!

I love that this box is secured with ribbon so when you are done it can be stored flat.   It can even be mailed in a card for a great surprise gift!  You can use it hold snacks like peanuts at a party if you line them with napkins.  It's also great to store little items like brads, eyelets, even to coral bottle of stickles.   You can cut it out of paper to match your decor too.  It's definitely a useful box and worth every penny!

I'd like to share with you a wonderful project Jane shared with  me.  Jane was the inspiration behind this airplane box.   She used it for the Delta Pioneers Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, filled with goodies and raffle tickets.  I think they decorated the table wonderfully!  Thanks for sharing your awesome project Jane!

I think these would make great party favor for a boys party too!  Click on the words below if you'd like to purchase a plane and take flight yourself!

I also have a Prop plane box designed as another request which will be in the store soon..here is a sneak peek.

I am working on a digital wedding kit too and hope to have that in the store soon.  Here's a sneak peek at some of the elements and papers in that.
Sooo see I have been doing something other than spending time on Facebook!  LOL!  I do have many ideas swimming in my head and hopefully I can get them on paper soon!

I have been enjoying all the Spring flowers lately.  The previous post I showed you my daughter enjoying the tulips and now I'd like to share with you the lilacs.   They are done blooming now but boy did they smell heavenly and look beautiful when they are in full glory!  Looks like the peonies are next to bloom...I love them as well!  Before I had kids by scrapbooks were filled with flower photos....it will be great this summer now that my daughter is older I should be able to rekindle my passion for flowers again.

Have a glorious weekend!  Looks like the warmer weather is returning!  Yeah! Oh and to the right you'll see I installed a chat box so hopefully it will be easier for you to leave comments and ask me questions.

Frugal Fridays: Your choice Card stencil or Wedding Ring Squares $1.00 each today only!

Hello everyone,
Well it's Friday and the start of another glorious holiday weekend!   I hope all the Mom's and Grandmother's have a wonderful holiday celebration this weekend.   Remember also to thank all those ladies in your life that fill in when Mom can't be around.   I can't imagine how empty my life would be not only without my Moms but also my friends who act like Moms!  So three cheers to all the wonderful ladies in my life!

Now on to my Frugal Friday specials.   Since I had a sale last Friday I didn't have a special so now you get two $1.00 specials.   For today only you get your choice of my wedding rings square file or my card stencil file for $1.00 each.  This price expires at midnight EST today....May 7, 2010.  Click on the words below to purchase.  Before you leave though please keep reading and check out the wonderful projects I have to share.

Wedding Ring Squares
Card Stencil
First up we have a lovely card for Caz's Mum.   Caz is an Aussie and calls her Mom "Mum".  It's funny the slight differences in different lands.  Caz's Mum is into quilting and this file was based on the double wedding rings quilt pattern.  So it's the perfect choice for Caz's card!  I just love the color scheme she chose...would be perfect for an anniversary card too!  Ohh and I just realized I have those flower brads .....but I didn't even think to put them in the center of those flowers.  They are the perfect accent aren't they!  Thanks for the inspiration Caz!

Next up we have a wonderfully dimensional card by Brett.   I designed the card stencil file to decorate the inside of greeting cards.   Brett surprised me by using showcasing it on the front of the card using dimensional stencil paint.   I love this look!  Brett said I could experiment with some light weight spackling to get the same look.  I have some and hope to try it someday.  She said you can even color the spackling with glimmer mist, reinkers, or possibly paint.  Great technique Brett!

Now I'd like to share with you two wonderful cards!  I love making cards and love seeing cards made by others.  It gets my wheels turning and is so inspiring.  I hope you are inspired too!  Both of these ladies used my Notebook Edge: Small Journaling Blocks file for the inside of their cards.   When I created this file I had journaling on scrapbook pages in mind but I'm loving the way these ladies used it on their cards.  Brilliant!
Click below if you'd like to purchase the notebook edge file.  The lines are included in the file..you can use your pen tool on your cutter machine to draw them in if you choose.
Notebook Edge: Small Journaling Blocks
or the larger version
Notebook Edge: Journaling Boxes/photo mats

There is a fancier version too called: Notebook Edge: Shaped Notes.  The flower and swirl are included.
My rolled up flowers I previewed early are finally in the store.  I am pretty happy with the way they turned out.  It would be interesting to experiment with them to see if they can be made fuller and maybe bend down all the petals and put pearls, gems, or brads in the center.   Click words below if you'd like to purchase.

Rolled Up Flowers

I haven't shared any photos in a while.  I was getting ready to print out some photos to send with Mom's cards and found these of my daughter.  I just love them so I figured they would be good ones to share.  I'm afraid since my son is at school I don't have that many photos of him...but you did just see him with his Mohawk a few posts back.

The last photo just cracks me up!  This was at Easter...we had decided to get an ice cream cake for desert.  As you can see Adoree loved it as she is licking the plate clean!  Hmm maybe I'll ask for one for Mom's Day as I love ice cream too!

Okay time to load the dishwasher before lunch!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a glorious weekend!

And the winner is.....plus some NSD challenge projects.

Hi everyone,
So did you enjoy national scrapbooking day?  I have to admit I had fun even though I did not get any time to actually craft.  I loved seeing all the projects that were shared in the challenges at Paperthreads.  I also loved watching you guys "catch" the ball for my blog challenge.  I'm glad many of you had fun playing this game and didn't think I was too weird!

So without further ado..thanks to random.org..the winner is.....
CONGRATS ESTHER!
Please e-mail me your address at shellysart@verizon.net and I'll get the package out to you soon!

I hosted a challenge on Paperthreads for NSD.  In the challenge a Tic Tac Toe/Bingo type of card was presented and people had to create projects using the items listed on the card.  They only had a few days to complete their projects.  These gals gave it their all and made some amazing items.   Over the course of this week I would like to share some of their projects.

First up we have Brett a very talented member of my CDT.  She made these wonderful notepads combining my Notepad with Cover file,  emoticons file, and fancy labels file (which incidently is where the ball was hiding!) .  Brett did a wonderful job!  She has some of the greatest "mod" paper..it's just perfect to go with the emoticons!     I just love these and think I may make some for the next church bizarre.   They would make excellent little gifts for baskets and stockings!  I wouldn't mind having one in my purse...well maybe two one to keep each child occupied.

If you would like to make any of your own notepads please click on the words below to purchase.

Next up we have two wonderful layouts by Lisa!  The first one uses everything listed on the Bingo card in my challenge.  She even made her own rub ons...Easter eggs.  One of these days I'll have to try that and maybe feature it here!

This uses my Easter:Hunting Eggs file.  If you'd like to purchase please click on the words below.

Easter: Hunting Eggs

Next Lisa did another wonderful layout using one of my newest files Beach Boys.  This file is perfect for her cool little dude!  I love how she used iridescent black paper for the sunglass lenses.

Click on the words below if you'd like to purchase the file.

I'm off to announce the winner of the NSD challenge...sooo....toodles!  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Word Charms

Next up we have the second page of Sandra's Christmas layout.  This one is just as charming as the previous one don't you agree!  We are always shocked when Sandra doesn't include a charm in her projects!  She gets all her charms at A Charming Place.  She even roped me into buying a few charms myself.  Well she didn't have to pull my arm too hard..I love charms!  Now if she can just get me to remember to use them!

If you'd like to use any of the files Sandra used to complete her layout click on the words below to purchase them.
Jingle Bells

Christmas 2009 Title
Well that takes care of Halloween and Christmas.  If you need Easter inspiration see yesterday's blog post.  I do apologize if you are all caught up on scrapppin and don't need inspiration for other holidays then the current theme....I know...I'll give you three cheers for a job well done and send you on your way.  Oh wait before you go though tell me your secret.  I'm sooo very far behind on scrappin...my poor daughter will be 3 this month and I have only scrapped maybe a dozen pages in her book!

Okay enough gabbing on to the goodies! First up I have some blog candy to give away.

It's a hodge podge of goodies.  You get various pieces of patterened paper, letter stickers, rub-ons, velvet ribbon, dew drops, 7 color blocking page templates, small clips, die cut title, and a complete 12 x 12 page kit (which includes ribbon, fabric flower, chipboard, and instructions for assembly).  So does this look like something you'd like to win?  In order to win this you must catch the ball!

HUH!  I know you are not a dog...but I thought this would be a fun game to play.  Just humor me..okay!  LOL!    In order to win the blog candy you need to do the following:  (Note I can only ship to the USA...but if you are international and win the blog candy I will give you free files as a substitute and pick another USA winner)

1.  Go into my store.  Click here.
2.  In one of my design images I have thrown this ball.  So you need to go find it.  E-mail me at shellysart@verizon.net with the name or number of the file you find the ball in.  This will give you one chance to win the blog candy.
3.  You can get one more chance to win by posting my blog candy on your blog with a link back to my blog.  Please send me proof that you have done this and I will put you down for another entry to win.  Facebook is a great place to put the blog candy too!
4.  You can win one more entry by e-mailing me a newly created project using one of my designs..these can be cutter files, digital scrapbooking or digi stamps.

To give you some time to create I will leave this contest open until Monday.  I will randomly draw the winner on Tuesday.  Goodluck!  But don't go yet...I have a freebie for you!  Blog candy closed..will be drawing a winner shortly!

Okay I know this has been an mega long blog post.   So thanks for hanging with me!  I will now get to the freebie.  In honor of National Scrapbooking Day I am giving you a layout that can be created using your digital paper cutter.   All you do is add the photos and base page.   Super simple!  I love doing layouts with my cutter because it makes creating duplicate pages easy.  I often do two pages of the same layout...one for my daughter and one for my son's book so this feature is really important to me.  You can find a few other layouts designed to be created with your cutter in my store here and here.

This freebie is not to be shared.  Please send them to my blog to download it themselves instead.  It still follows my Terms of Use included in the zip file.   The Zip contains AI, GSD, KNK, SVG, and WPC formats.  I will leave the freebie up until Sunday then it will go into my store.
Freebie expired look for it in my store soon.

The example layout I created is of my son.  Hubby took him to get his hair cut right before Easter...to my amazement he came back with a mohawk.  I was a little afraid of what all our relatives would think but my son was very tickled with his new hair cut...and I have to admit he does look pretty cute in it!  The title says "Hi Mohawk Head!" because that is what his sister says everytime she sees him!  Gotta love a 2 year old!

Okay I need to eat breakfast and get some of the challenges I'm hosting on the Paperthreads forum set up.  Thanks for visiting with me and I hope you have a fabulously creative weekend!
