Papertrey ink MIM #77 Ink Pads as Watercolors

Just popping in before heading to bed with my Papertrey ink Make It Monday 77 card.  Whew...I didn't think I'd get it done before the deadline!  This technique involves using ink pads mixed with water to water color outline stamps.  Check out the video here

Sorry about the poor photo..the sun has long since gone down here!  I really had a lot of fun coloring with my ink pads.  I don't remember the exact colors I used.  I did use watercolor paper though which for me is must when playing with this technique.  I kept adding colors and water and the paper was pretty wet when I was finished.  I don't have many outline stamps from PTI so I had to use this tiny pansy image from Year of Flowers.  I think it would be soo much fun doing this on a larger scale.  I had the image colored on Friday and was quite happy with it.  Tonight I finally got a chance to put it on a card and I was stumped!  I wanted soft colors that wouldn't interfere with the soft tiny image.  I finally pulled some patterned papers from K C & Company stamped the peach one with more pansies for a tone on tone paper.  After sifting through various papers nothing worked then I remembered I had that old book sitting there.  So I pulled a page from that and it worked great!  I was sooo happy!  Oh and one hint if you use your electronic cutter to cut this paper adhere it to some cardstock first as it's too delicate to cut cleanly.  I stamped the one book page with PTI's fancy flourishes.  I used my Card Base 4 cutter file for all the pieces.  It is great because you don't have to think about where to put everything and all the pieces stack nicely together just like a puzzle!

If you would like to purchase my file please click on the preview below to be taken directly to it in my store.
