PaperTrey Ink Make it Monday #23
Whew! I thought for sure I wasn't going to make the deadline! I started this card on Friday but then had a busy weekend. (Yes...I'm still working on the porch..but we're making progress ;) I apologize for the poor photos. It is very dark out so I opted for scanning in the items instead of taking photos in bad lighting. I should have put the tag on a colored background before scanning but I just didn't think of that until now and really wanted to get this posted without delay!
The challenge this week was to make a card with a pocket using edger dies. You can see the video of the technique here. Of course by the time you read this the new Monday one will be posted since a new one is posted every Monday. I'm hoping I can participate earlier this week!
Let's see Papertrey stamps used:
Honey Bees-bee image and word "bee" on the tag and honey comb background
Mat Stack Two Collection-stamped image surrounding the bumble bee and coordinating die
Let Freedom Ring -words "happy" and "birthday" on the tag
Other:
Shelly's Art: Tags Galore and Cutie Bee cutting files (scroll down for more info)
Cutie bee has doodlebug flocking on it to make him wonderfully fuzzy!
Nestabilities Labels 8-used for edges of pockets since I don't have any PTI edgers dies
Nestabilities scalloped circle-used behind the mat stack image
Stickles applied to bee, dotted pocket, brads and reinforcement
Dotted background technique using Copic markers as seen in this video. Thanks Dana...my first time ever doing this but I love how it turned out! It kept the white wings and white eye from blending in on the white tag.
Yellow and Black bakers twine made by me using my Dremmel tool, cup hook, crochet yarn and embroidery floss (let me know if you want to see how I made this and I will get a video together after the porch is done)
If you could like to purchase either of my files I used on this card..please click on the photos to get to my store.
I had planned on posting some projects from my design team when I posted my card for this challenge. However, I'm out of gas and I need to get some sleep. It's 1:25 AM which means it's already tomorrow and past my bedtime! So please check back later in the week for some inspiration from my talented CDT! Thanks for stopping by! Have a splendid week!

Love, love, LOVE your card and tag!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That flocking really pops on your cutie bee. You did a marvelous job on both of them and the pictures are NOT bad at all! I'm sure they are fabulous in person but you did get your point across. :)
Hope you're not wearing yourself out on getting your porch done! I'm sure the kids are a big help, too! LOL
Beautiful card, Shelly! I love how it turned out. Please share how you made your baker's twine. I would love a tutorial.
