Witch hat cookies, jack o lanterns, and freebie!

Howdy everyone,
I'm sorry I told you I would share the witch hat cookie yesterday but I was in charge of taking photos of all the Kindergarten kids in their costumes, helped with the school's parade and at my son's Halloween party. I started coming down with a cold and after all that activity I crashed last night. I went to bed at 8:30 and didn't get up again until my daughter woke me up around 7:00. Gee I usually only sleep about 4 hours a night...you would think after all that sleep I would feel refreshed but I'm still tired! Hope I'm not catching that Swine Flu my son had. I don't have time to be sick! LOL! We still have to carve pumpkins and do trick or treating tonight!

Okay now on to the witch hats. These were a big hit at my son's party and they were soo easy to do..if you need a quick treat for tonight yet these can be made in minutes. I have also seen them done with peanut butter cups on top (instead of the kisses) to make pilgrim hats for Thanksgiving.

As you can see my son had fun making these! I have a feeling we'll be making the pilgrim hats for Thanksgiving too! Someone suggested trying to do elf hats for Christmas...hmmmm we shall see!

I have a few wonderful layouts and even some creative wall art to share with you using my build a jack-o-lantern file.

I just love how Caz and Games incorporated my file into their layouts. I love seeing layouts...it seem we are all soo busy now a days...we can barely make a card!

Isn't this Wall Art by Jinkies just grand? I am totally in awe at this. She placed the items in a frame and used great black and white colors. Looks like something that just jumped out of a home interiors magazine. I bet you could do this with many of the cutter files you are collecting. Be inspired by Jinkies..stop hoarding and use your files to decorate your house!

We haven't carved out pumpkins yet...that is my goal after lunch to get them DONE! But this was one I carved last year. I used my build a jack-o-lantern file as a stencil so I knew where to carve. Since my kids are still pretty young these simple faces are fine for them. You can even cut the faces out of vinyl and apply them to the front of a pumpkin so you don't have to deal with the messy cleaning out and all that.

If you think you'd like to purchase my build a jack-o-lantern file click on the preview below. Hurry if you buy it quick you can get it for $1.49 but only until midnight CST tonight.

Above is the first file in my quarterly membership club. It starts tomorrow! It's a great deal as you get at least 20 files for only $10.00. I promise you a variety of files including boxes, cards, and home decor items. Click on the preview below to purchase the membership.

Okay now to reward you for making through this long post I am going to give you a freebie. This little spider decided to dress up as a vampire for Halloween. I hope you'll all find a use for him in your paper crafting projects. The zip file will include, AI, GSD, KNK, SVG, and WPC formats along with instructions. This file will remain free for 24 hours and after that it will be for sale in my store. So hurry and grab it! Please keep in mind even though it is free you may not share this file...send them to my blog here to download it themselves instead!

Sorry this is no longer a freebie...link removed..check for it in my store soon!
Happy Halloween!

Exploding Boxes, spider boxes and turkeys!

Hello!
I'm sorry I know I haven't blogged in ages. My son came down with the Swine flu and missed a whole week of school last week. So...this week I'm trying to play catch up and get ready for Halloween! To top things off I lost my cell phone while we were picking pumpkins! Fortunately, it was found! Someone must have been watching out for me...because there were tons of people and kids at the pumpkin patch but it was left on the table where it landed when it fell out of my purse. So I consider myself blessed! You know I haven't shared many photos lately...especially of my daughter. So I'll post the pumpkin patch one! As you can see my daughter still is pulling out her hair when she sucks her thumb. We hate seeing her bald! Any advice on how to deal with this would soo be appreciated!

Oh take a look at that face my son was making! Go figure...our daughter looks pretty good and he looks like he saw something gross! We had such a hard time getting either one to sit still....maybe we'll have better luck with Halloween photos!

Don't forget I'm hosting the quarterly membership club at Paperthreads this month...a great deal for a great price. Click on the preview below to purchase it.

What's that you say?! You don't want to purchase the membership because you don't want to pay for files you may not like! Well I have just the thing that will hopefully convince you otherwise! My CDT member Lisa Lindesmith cut my exploding box. It will be the first file in the membership..starting Nov. 1st. I think she did an awesome job! I just love the colors. If you join my membership you will get the exploding box, the flower/bow you see on the lid of the box and the 3-D tree..and that is just the beginning. I will be back sometime soon with another preview of an important date rolodex file I have in the works.

Have you purchased my spider box yet? I know many of you have as I am loving all the spiders that have crawled into my mailbox. You can buy it for less than $2.00 during the month of Oct. Click here if you want to purchase it. I still have to make one more myself for my son as trick or treating is Sat! Here are a few that customers have shared.

I love how Susan put flocking on the spider to make him fuzzy and those jewel eyes are sooo pretty! She also created her own patterned paper by stamping images on plain cardstock...how clever!

Linda made a bunch of boxes and mailed them to her sister..then her sister decided to decorate her table with them. They look great sprinkled around that gorgeous centerpiece! I never thought about mailing the boxes....I do have friends that live a far and may not get to see them for Christmas...boxes may just be a good gift for them as if I send a variety they can use them all year. Pssst....I'll have more box files included in my membership.

I was looking at all the items in my store and realized...gasp..I didn't have a thing related to Thanksgiving. Since you guys like my build a file soo much I decided to do a build a turkey file. Click on the preview below to purchase it. You choose what style feather, eyes and feet you want and you can even dress up your turkey with pilgrim costumes. With all the options in this file you could even create a whole family of gobblers!

I have some projects to share using my jack o lantern file but I will save them for another day. We are making witch hat treats and I plan on sharing how to make those tomorrow.

Happy Halloween!

It's raining spiders! Fall pumpkin box!

I am simply overwhelmed with how much you guys are enjoying my spider boxes. I have yet another fabulous example to share with you all. This one is from a talented lady I met on the Scal-hints yahoo group I belong to. I just love the very large googly eyes Patsy used. Make me smile just looking into those huge eyes!

Patsy used glitter on the web...that hint of sparkle is the perfect accent for the whimsical box!

The file for these boxes are on sale for the whole month of Oct so if you'd like to make one too click here to purchase before Halloween is done and over with and all the goblins go into hiding! Oh but if you want to get ready for Chirstmas too...I have the perfect file collection for you. I have bundled up the spider box, flower box and pumpkin box....and put them in one money saving collection. The flower box is very versatile and depending on the paper you choose can be used for EAster, Valentines, Mother's Day you name it! Click on the preview below to purchase all three boxes and always be ready with a quick box!

For those of you who already bought the spider and flower box...you know the pumpkin box is new. Don't worry I'm not mean and won't make you buy the whole collection just for one box. LOL! You can purchase the pumpkin box by itself here.

One of my CDT members WOWed me with a great Halloween card using my Halloween 2009 title and build a jack-o-lantern files. I just love the glitter she added to the letters and numbers in the web....see the web cuts as one piece and Kelly just layered the glitter on top of the web. Guess what she also cut all those jacks out of vinyl. I love how vivid the color is on those! The background is great too...all in all a splendid card!

If you would like to create your very own cutesy not so spooky creation yourself..click on the previews below to purchase the files Kelly used.

Hurry the file above is on sale for the whole month of Oct!

It is her birthday this month and she is giving us two chances to win prizes...how generous is that! Click here to find details about how you can get a chance to win! I can't keep my mouth shut when I look at the picture...I'm totally blown away by all the goodies in it. I do not have a scrapbook store anywhere near me so you can see why I am amazed! Good luck! I hope you win but I hope I do too! LOL!

Would you believe here in PA we got snow. Yes...we do have snow quite often in the Winter here but never this early! My son loved it of course and couldn't wait to play in it. Here you can see he's tasting it too! So yes I did buy the kids winter coats....had to take my daughter in to get her flu shot the other day and I was reminded of what an ordeal it is to go anywhere in the cold....bulky coats, hats, gloves trying to get them all on a full of energy wiggly 2 year old isn't fun not to mention the car seat...this is going to be a long winter indeed!

Don't forget I'm hosting the quarterly membership club at Paperthreads this month...a great deal for a great price. Click on the preview below to purchase it.

I'd better get busy on my card swap! Have a fabulous weekend and if it's cold where you are at...keep warm! Thanks for stopping by!

More spiders, bees, flower soft and quarterly membership club.

Hello,
It's getting very cold in my neck of the woods. Is is cold where you live? I've got to get the kids winter jackets. Guess I'm just not ready to face the fact Winter will soon be here. We traveled to the little Grand Canyon in PA yesterday. It was so cold...we dressed the kids in many layers just trying to keep them warm. We missed the beautiful Fall scenery in the canyon as most of the leaves had fallen off the trees...but I still took some photos and some of the trees just in the forest were beautiful. If I ever get a chance to pull them off my camera..I'll share a few with you.

I'm soo excited to have the quarterly membership club at Paperthreads for the months of Nov, Dec and Jan. You really can't beat the price...20 or more all new files designed by me just for the membership for one low price $10.00. What a value! I plan on offering you a variety of files so you'll get your moneys worth. I have in the works an exploding Christmas box and a rolodex important date organizer. So what are you waiting for hurry up and click on the preview at the top to purchase the membership. I know you won't be disappointed!

First up we have a wonderfully whimsical looking spider box created by Karen and her daughter..they had fun creating a whole slew of these and put snack sized treats in each one...Yummy! Hmm I wonder what the word is for a group of spiders? You know like a flock is a group of birds...what is a group of spiders called! Any one know?

Next is an equally great creation by Linda. I just love the paper and google eyes she used!

If you would like to purchase the spider box to make one too simply click here. It on sale the whole month of Oct.

Another little insect flew into my e-mail box too! A fabulous Creative Design Team member surprised me with a card using my cutie bee file. I just love the sentiment she used! If you'd like to purchase it click here to be taken directly to it in my store.

Have you guys heard of Flower Soft. If not click here to see a video on how to use it. I think this stuff is amazing! I just got to play with it this weekend and purchased quite a few of the colors. Blog Candy Winner and spider boxes.

Hello!
I'd like to thank everyone who joined in on the Paperthreads blog hop. I hope you picked up some great files and had fun along the way. It was wonderful hearing all your glorious comments! I thought it was quite interesting to see what files you liked best. It's very hard as a designer to know what people will like so hearing from you was very helpful.

In case you are curious the most frequent file picked as a fav is my new spider box. I really like this file too! In fact a few of you purchased it on Sat and sent me your versions of it right away. Speedy crafters are you. I'd like to share the cute little spider boxes that crawled into my e-mail.

First up is Elizabeth's version. She is a great member of my creative design team. I just love the doubled sided paper she used...a perfect match! Love the glitter too!

Next up, Aussie Caz did a great job too. The paper she used made the box look wonderfully whimsical!

Lastly, Nikki played with my box too. She made a cutie girly version complete with purple glitter, google eyes and a flower! She even used flocking on the spider's legs to make them fuzzy...great idea!

I need to make a few more of these boxes for my friends....I will definitely be incorporating some of your ideas when I make any more. Great job ladies..thanks for the inspiration!

If you missed out on the sale Sat don't worry you can still purchase the spider box at 40% off for the whole month of Oct 2009. Click the preview below to get it.

I'd also like to share with you a cute little card wonderful CDT member Kelly made using my jack-o-lantern card. She is the queen of embossing! I love the pattern she chose for the pumpkin and the glittered facial features.

If you'd like to make your own card like Kelly did...click on the preview below to purchase the file at 40% the whole month of Oct 2009. The great thing about this card is if you aren't into Halloween you can just leave the card with just the pumpkin and no facial features.

In case you are curious....these butterflies were the second most popular file. Click on preview to purchase.

Okay now I know you really...really...really want to know who won the blog candy. Hmmm maybe I should wait until tomorrow to tell you! Just kidding! First, I'd like to say thanks to everyone who entered and to those who sent lovely projects to my e-mail. Now the winner thanks to random.org is.....

Congrats Rhonda! Please e-mail me (shellysart@verizon.net)with your full name and address so I can get the package to you soon. Hope you enjoy your goodies!

Biggest sale of the year, blog hop, file organization, freebie bow

Photobucket

Hey everyone, thanks for joining in on the Blog Hop! Did you pop over here after visiting Sam and Hailey's Designs Blog? If you did, then you are in the right place, if you didn’t, then I recommend you go back to the Paperthreads store’s main page, www.paperthreads.com/store and start from the beginning…so you get all your secret words in order!!

My secret word to give you is the word YOU, and you can find the next word along the hop by visiting Shirley Clark Designs.

But don't leave just yet! I have some goodies for you too...please read all of this post as I promise it will be worth it.

Okay admit it...sometimes you feel like pulling your hair out because you can't find that cutter file you know you have saved somewhere on that computer of yours. I am here to give you some hints that will hopefully stop your frustration. Click here to view an article on cutter file organization. I have also included category folders to easily organize your files as I have mentioned in the article. I have zipped this info...you will get a direct download to it.

I am part of the Scal-hints yahoo group. I just love all the information every one on this group shares. I learn something new every day! One of the ladies shared the link to this amazing video they found at Christmas with the Cricut's Blog on how to make a paper bow. I was so impressed with Tammy's bow I couldn't wait to make my own. I got to thinking though this would be so much easier if I had cutter file to do the measuring and punching of the holes for me. So I set about making that file. I love how my bow turned out and I want you to make one too! I am sharing the file with you. I have put all the formats in one link so you will get AI, KNK, SVG, WPC, and GSD formats in one download. I have put them on a secure server. It should download automatically. Please keep in mind I did not design this bow...Tammy from the Christmas with the Circut blog did...I only took her instructions and made some strips with holes in them for our cutters to cut.

You can download the bow file here.
You can see the video on how to make it here.

Don't leave yet. I have some blog candy for you all too!

I know it's hard to see what's in the baggies are googly eyes, dew drops and flower/snowflake irridescent sequins. The papers are all patterned paper and sized 12 x 12. I will give this away to one winner. Now for the rules.

1. In order to win you must post a comment telling me what your favorite file is in my store. You can click on my Ad at the beginning to get to my store or here. All comments must be posted before my clock at the top right of this blog hits midnight. No entries will be accepted on Sunday.

2. If you e-mail(shellysart@verizon.net)me a project using one of my files then you will get your name put in the drawing for the blog candy also. All e-mailed projects must be in my mailbox before the clock at the top right of this screen hits midnight. No entries will be accepted on Sunday. (so if you follow rules 1 and 2 then you get 2 chances to win!)

3. I will pay to ship this package to anyone in the United States. If you are outside of the US I will pay $10.00 towards shipping and you pay the rest....or you can pick which 10 of my files currently in the store you want for free and we'll pick another winner for the blog candy package.

Random.org will aid me in picking a winner and it will be announced here on my blog.

Okay before you shut you computer down for the day I do hope you head on over to my corner of the Paperthread's store for an amazing sale. I have never dropped prices this low! I am doing this because it is my 1 year anniversary with Paperthreads. I so love working there! It makes me smile soo wide and gives me a fuzzy feeling inside every time one of you buys my files. I truly appreciate all the support you've given me through this year of designing. I hope to be here for many more years. Thanks so much for purchasing my files!

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you enjoy all the goodies you are getting during the anniversary celebration at Paperthreads!
