Play Date Cafe and Color Throwdown Challenges

Hi everyone,
I went to a crop this weekend.  It was soo much fun!  I actually got a few cards done for two color challenges.

Here is what I came up with for this challenge.

I wasn't sure I liked these colors at first but once I put them on paper I think they look great!  I copied an amazing card from Betsy Veldman.  You can see it here.  I just love the layout of the card.  I'd like to try it with Christmas colors and a poinsettia in place of the rose.  So you may just see that in future.

supplies:
Stamps:  PTI Rosie Posie, PTI Everyday Classics (sentiment), PTI Happy Hexagons, PTI Spot and Dots (bottom border)
Ink:  all Momento Potter's Clay, Sweet Plum and Grape Jelly
Copic markers used to shade rose but sorry can't remember what color

I had to make a birthday card for my uncle.  So I decided to mimic a card I had done previously but just make it more masculine and use the colors above.  I still like the feminine one better.  You can find it here.   But I am terrible at making masculine cards...flowers and fru fru are so ME!  Anyway, it will go in the mail regardless!

supplies:
Stamps: PTI Happy Hexagons, PTI Honey Bees (sentiment)
Ribbon:  from my stash
Die cuts:  Card Base 11..stamped hexagons over the overlay frame and then removed.   Birthday designed by me cut on my KNK

I hope to participate in a few more challenges this week so stay tuned!  Thanks for stopping by!  Please come back again!

50% off ends soon and new files

My sale continues.   I am giving you 50% off all my designs.  No coupon code needed.  Simply click here and start filling your cart!  I have a wide variety of items including digital cutter files, digital stamps and digital scrapbooking goodies.  I currently have 250 files.  I am in the process of converting all my files to MTC and Studio format but haven't gotten them all done.  However, if you purchase any of my files and share with me the receipt I will be happy to convert the files for you and send them to your e-mail box ASAP.   I have been busy converting many files this week and  as I convert them I put them immediately in the store.

Wow!  I can't believe how many of you have downloaded my freebie!  I am thrilled you are liking my little gift!  It is still available for a few more days so check it out  if you missed it.  You can find it in my store here.  I'm not telling you what it is because if I do then it wouldn't be a surprise!  I don't want to spoil your fun!  I will tell you it's part of my build a...series!  I just love files that give you versatility and let's you customize the files to suit your needs.  If you have any ideas for more build a files I'm all ears!

I have put a few new files in my store also.  Kelly my talented design team member played around with one of them. Card Base 14.
Kelly played around with my stacked circle flowers technique.  I have it posted here on my blog but I'm not sure when I posted it.  Basically you cut various circles decreasing in size...crinkle them up a bit, stack largest to smallest then secure in the middle with brad to create a flower.  I need to go paint my porch but if I get some time I'll edit this post to include the link to the tut.  The Love word is a freebie I have featured in the past.  Kelly used papers from the DCWV Old World Stack for the "frame" and K and Company papers were used to make the flower.   I just love Kelly's shabby chic card!  I also love how she turned the card horizontally.  I often forget my card bases are versatile that way!  If you would like to purchase this file click on the preview below.

It is also available in digital template form.  Click on the preview below to purchase.

Did you know I have digital paper packs for sale that can be printed on your printer and used in your cutting machine?  Yep..I do.  Featured above are my Strawberry Delight and Zigity Zag digi papers. Click on the previews below if you wish to buy these.

If you are a frequent blog visitor you may remember this card...

I finally got the file I used to make it into the store.  One nice thing...the frame in this Card Base 15 matches the borders in my Card Base 14. I could definitely see using the border and frame on a scrapbook page together. I especially like the banner in this one. Banners seem soo popular right now. Click on the preview below if you'd like to purchase the file.

It is also available in a digital template version.  Click the preview below to purchase it.

Okay I've got to get to painting that porch!  I am dreading it because it seems soo cold to me!  The paint can says it has to be above 50 degrees to apply the paint..which is just barely is so I guess I don't have any excuse not to go do it!  Thanks for stopping by and please come back again!

Have  a fabulous weekend!

Oh and sorry for all the photos..I got a little carried away!  Hope it didn't take too long for you to load but if it does please tell me so I know to limit my photos in the future!

Paperthreads 6 year celebration sale, freebie and Witchy Poo!

Paperthreads has been open for 6 years now!  My how time has flown by!  It's hard to believe the store has been around longer than my daughter!  LOL!  In celebration I am giving you 50% off all my designs.  No coupon code needed.  Simply click here and start filling your cart!  I have a wide variety of items including digital cutter files, digital stamps and digital scrapbooking goodies.  I currently have over 240 files.  I am in the process of converting all my files to MTC and Studio format but haven't gotten them all done.  However, if you purchase any of my files and share with me the receipt I will be happy to convert the files for you and send them to your e-mail box ASAP.

I also have a surprise FREEBIE for you.

Paperthreads is being featured on the MTC forum for a week.  They will be hosting a fun challenge and many other designer's will be giving freebies for this challenge too.  So please head on over to http://forum.make-the-cut.com to check out the fun.  I don't know if the challenge is posted yet but keep checking as you don't want to miss out on the fun!

I have a few new files in the store too.

First up is my Witchy Poo digital stamp.  This is the one I had given you a sneak peek of earlier.

This cute little witch made up of pumpkins is a great alternative to the scary images of Halloween.  Click on the preview above or here to purchase.

So you don't like to color...well no problem I also have this available in digital cutter file format.  Click on the preview below or here to purchase.

Kelly couldn't resist playing with the digi image of Witchy Poo.  I just love how she accented the stars with glitter!  That bow is just spectacular and adds the perfect finishing touch!

Here is what Kelly had to say about her fab card.  "Patterned papers are from K & Company and the ribbon is from Michael's. I just used my Marvy markers and added some yellow glitter."

Okay once again it is lunch time!  You know what amazes me is how much time we spend not only eating but prepping food.  I know it often takes me an hour to make supper!  It takes me probably 3 hours to make a grocery list.  Insane!  I like to look at the Ads for the week and compare that to what recipes I want to make.  I also try to make sure nothing gets thrown away.  For instance this week I had a recipe that used 1 cup of spinach and I know it's only available in a big bag so I found another recipe the rest of the spinach can go in.  I also like to clip coupons both from the newspapers and online printable ones.   So doing all this saves us money but at times I feel like I'm wasting half my life away worrying about food!  Does anyone else feel this way!

Ooops sorry I'm rambling...I'd better run as the cats are begging to be fed!  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to have some more projects for you soon so please stop back!  Have a wonderful weekend!
