Sue Shaff has been created some awesome learning books for her grandson Clay using cutter files and various embellishments.   I proposed to Sue that my emoticons file might make a good emotions book for Clay.  Thankfully Sue thought it was a great idea and the book she created is wonderful!  I will show it to you in a slideshow below so this post doesn't get over run with photos.

Above is the photo of Clay enjoying his book.  Isn't he just adorable!   I think Sue did an awesome job on the book.  It's great Clay has such a caring and creative Grandma!  You can see some of the other books she made on Sue's blog here.  If you would like to purchase the emoticons file please click here.   I designed this file to mimic text message smiley so these are perfect for layouts featuring kids texting or even cards for teens who like to text!

Next up I have a terrific card by Jan W.  Jan used my Spring Water Can digital stamp.
Here is what Jan had to say about her card.  "I colored it with colored pencils and experimented with "Gamsol" (odorless mineral spirits) to blend the colors. By using the spirits, it really got rid of the lines created by coloring with the pencils. I cut extra parts of the flowers out to make it more 3D. I used a paint brush to 'paint' the watering can with pearl glimmer mist. Of course I needed a little bling-bling to jazz it all up, and kylee's 'cranberry' dews were the perfect choice."  I know Jan was a little disappointed as she mentioned the variation in colors didn't show up that well in her photo.  I dunno I think it looks fab to me!  If you would like to purchase my stamp click on the words above the preview.

Next up we have an amazing masculine card.  I always struggle with masculine cards.  I find much inspiration in Kelly's projects as she is great at them!

Kelly used my tent card: scenery file in combination with Accents by Eddita's deer.   I will definitely be copying this card in the future as my Dad would love this!  I love tent cards...they add much dimension but can be flattened easily for mailing.  Click on the words above the preview if you'd like to purchase my tent card.

I seem to always get these blog posts done just when lunch time hits.  So I'd better go!  Have a wonderful Independence Day!  I can't wait to take some fireworks photos!  Thanks for stopping by and come see me again soon!

Frugal Fridays: $1.00 Bracket Fun and Spring is coming!

Hello everyone,
First I'll tell you about my Frugal Friday special then scroll down to see what else I'm excited about!  For today only you can get my Bracket Fun file for merely $1.00.   It's a very versatile file perfect for scrapbookers and cardmakers alike.   Hurry though this wonderfully frugal price disappears at midnight EST today...March 5, 2010.  Here is a fabulous Christmas card Kelly sent me.  I just love those trees and they match perfectly with that paper.  The tree files were designed by Chris Durnan and you can find them here.  I bet you could easily change this card design up and make this card more suited for Spring by adding flowers to the trees and using floral paper.

Okay take a close look at the photo above! Do you see it!   Do you see that wonderful site that I see?!  Yep my tulips and daffodils are poking their leaves out of the dirt promising me that Spring is coming!  I can't wait!  I'm sooo tired of  the Winter snow and cold.   I absolutely love flowers and can not wait to see the blooms that these leaves are promising!  There is something about the birds chirping and flowers blooming that makes me happy!

Well since Spring hasn't officially arrived yet..I decided to create my own Spring by drawing my first digital stamp.  I showed you a preview last week.  I'm excited to say it is now in the store.   I colored it and sent the card off to my Mom.  Here is the preview of the card.   I do like how it turned out...but I've got to say it was hard for me to leave it be!  I don't do simple...I kept slapping my hands and closing my eyes because I so wanted to add something else but knew deep down that is was perfect just the way it is.  So ....what do you think..did I do good?  Oh and the scallop border on the card came from Penny Duncan's wonderful nesting files.  You can find it here

If you'd like to color a watering can of your own and bring a little Spring into your world today...click on the preview below to purchase the stamp in my store.
Okay I've gotta go clean my house!  In laws are coming!  I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!
