It's officially Summer!

Hi everyone!  Well it's here..Summer is officially here!  School has been out for roughly 3 weeks now and my kids assumed when school let out that it is Summer.  So the other day my daughter looked on her calendar and was soo surprised to see that Summer had just official started.  So ...with Summer comes warmer weather (although it has been quite mild lately..not that I am complaining) and thus I dug out some of my Summer files and put them in my store.  I hope you can find a use for them.  If so please click on the previews below to be taken directly to them in my store.

I think the tickets above would be perfect for Project Life.  I have never done this type of Scrapbooking before but the concept does seem quick yet creative.  I have oodles of photos from previous years to scrap.  So I purchased a pack of Design A protectors and once I get my photos organized I will attempt a page.  Any hints would be appreciated.  I don't plan on doing the photo a day concept rather scraping events like birthdays, sports ect.

I am trying to get the kids into some sort of routine for Summer.  I really wanted to figure out a good chore system.  Last year I did chore cards, tickets and prizes but it all seemed too complicated so this year I came across this system on Pinterest.  Kierste featured Popsicle sticks with Washi Tape on each stick.  A different design for each kid.  The chores get written on the stick and that way they know what is required from them by pulling the sticks out of the jar.  I'm anxious to try this.

My son Tyler left for Scout camp this morning.  He has to stay for 4 days and is soo nervous.  I am glad he put on a brave face and didn't cry when I dropped him off.  I know if he can get over his fear he will have fun.  Plus if he doesn't do this he can't advance on to Boy Scouts.  So I'm praying and keeping my fingers and toes crossed he will succeed and have fun!

Hi everyone,
     So did you enjoy national scrapbooking day?  I have to admit I had fun even though I did not get any time to actually craft.  I loved seeing all the projects that were shared in the challenges at Paperthreads.  I also loved watching you guys "catch" the ball for my blog challenge.  I'm glad many of you had fun playing this game and didn't think I was too weird!

I hosted a challenge on Paperthreads for NSD.  In the challenge a Tic Tac Toe/Bingo type of card was presented and people had to create projects using the items listed on the card.  They only had a few days to complete their projects.  These gals gave it their all and made some amazing items.   Over the course of this week I would like to share some of their projects.  

First up we have Brett a very talented member of my CDT.  She made these wonderful notepads combining my Notepad with Cover file,  emoticons file, and fancy labels file (which incidently is where the ball was hiding!) .  Brett did a wonderful job!  She has some of the greatest "mod" paper..it's just perfect to go with the emoticons!     I just love these and think I may make some for the next church bizarre.   They would make excellent little gifts for baskets and stockings!  I wouldn't mind having one in my purse...well maybe two one to keep each child occupied.

Just the Basics, vacations membership, and CDT creations.

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying your Summer. It is glorious not to have to tote everyone to school and not having to bundle them up for cold weather. I'm looking forward to a 4th July picnic. It gives me an excuse to be off my diet for a day! LOL! I love firework photos too so that is another bonus of this holiday. Let Freedom Ring!

My Creative Design Team has been busy being very creative lately and I'd like to share with you some of their wonderful projects.




Would you believe both ladies used my 3-D butterflies file to achieve two totally different but grand looking cards? Lisa actually cut out two butterflies one in cardstock and the other out of acetate then stamped it and added jewels to the body to achieve a very elegant look. Click on the preview below to purchase the butterflies. Elizabeth cut the butterfly out of yellow cardstock plus the included butterfly accent out of white. She then added doodles with a black pen. She used my bracket fun file also (scroll up to see the preview of that file). The embossed paper paired with the doodled butterfly and inked brackets gives her card a very whimsical fun look!

New files, CDT member Sandra Allred, coupon, freebie

Hi everyone,
I have a few new files in my store so you can ready for Easter early this year.

First up is the festive twig tree. This little tree will take you through all the holidays and seasons of the year. Simply choose the shape you want and copy it as many time you'd like to adhere to your twig tree. This file was designed to fit perfectly on a 5" x 7" card. Please keep in mind you can also use the shapes on other paper crafting projects. The ghost would be perfect on a Halloween invitation. The flower would look great on a girly scrapbook page. Also, it is easy to add other files to this tree. The jingle bell or ornament from my build a wreath file would look great adhered to this twig tree. Click on the preview to purchase the file.



Next is the Build an Easter Egg. This file has so many choices! This file makes it easy to make many different Easter themed eggs. All the patterned eggs cut as overlays which you place a solid egg underneath thus the color combos are endless! In addition to the egg overlays it comes complete with a basket, plain eggs, and flowers to decorate your basket. You could even decorate the basket further by adding the bow from my festive twig tree file to the basket handle. This looks great on a card or to decorate a gift bag. I'd like to announce another very creative member of my Creative Design Team.
Sandra Allred. I'm am so happy she agreed to be a part of my team as you will see when you scroll down she is amazingly talented!

Here are a few words Sandra had to say to introduce herself!

"My name is Sandra Allred. I'm 48. I’m married and have a teenage son. I'm a native Carolinian. Born in South Carolina and moved to North Carolina after college. I met my husband in Sunday school at church :-). I work part-time (actually about 3/4 time) at a major utility company. I’ve worked since college and can't wait to retire. Would have a long time ago if hubby didn't insist I work - lol. We attend a Baptist church where I teach 2 year old Sunday school and missions and chaperone the youth on occasion.

I have scrapbooked for 13 years (stamping and card making not quite as long). I purchased my wishblade in spring of 2007 but didn’t really start using it until spring of 2008. I am in the process of purchasing a used KNK. My style varies depending on what I am making. Typically my scrapbook pages are simple and clean cut. I will “step out of my box” when doing cards and altering items.

I love to have fun and tease and my feelings are not hurt easily."

This layout uses my alphabet charm letters :Uppercase file. I love the simple clean look of this layout. I tend to go overboard with embellishments and I admire those who know when enough is enough!

This card uses my I love you card file. I just love Sandra's choice of papers.

You may have notice little metal charms in Sandra's projects. Well Sandra is definitely a charm lover! She even enticed me to by some charms from her favorite store A Charming Place. Now if I can just remember to use them! I have many more projects to share but I'm sure you are getting tired of this lengthy post...so I'll share them later.
