This week's make it Monday video over at Papertrey ink involves sponging on various inks onto your stamps to get a multi-colored blended image. Check out Dawn's fabulous video here.
I decided to also participate in the latest Case this sketch challenge.
Here is my card:
I really struggled with this card. I pulled out the striped pattern paper. I really wanted to use the pint jar stamp so I pulled the colors from the paper for my flowers. My original thought was to place the jar on a banner type shape. However, I stamped the jar too far down on the paper to do that. So thus the scallop rectangle. I originally wanted the striped paper to cover the entire card front. For some reason this seemed too busy. I'm still not sure I'm loving the layout of the card but I do love how the jar turned out. I used 7 different stamp sets to complete this card. The flowers I used were short stems so I used the balloon strings slightly curved to make stems. I used glossy accents on the jar to give it some shine like real glass. I also put a little bit of watercolor pencil inside the jar to make it look like water and a little under the jar for a shadow. A little bit of jute string finishes off the card.
