Goodness it sure has been ages since I blogged. I definitely need to remedy that. Well my last post talked about Summer beginning. Now I am here to tell you Summer is officially over. The kids have been in school for almost a month now. Adoree has started soccer and gymnastics. Tyler has started Scouts, boot camp, and band. I have church choir practice tonight. So for me that means Summer has ended no matter what the weather is like! I tell ya though I'm having a hard time getting back into the groove. I totally missed my cousin's birthday! Eek! I was thinking there weren't any Sept. birthdays I needed to worry about. So I know I needed to send her a belated birthday card. I googled and saw a few cute squirrel cards so I set about to create my own.

I love how simple this sketch was and how easy this card was to put together! I was happy to finally use the Papertrey Ink
My Punny Valentine which has the adorable squirrel, nut and the word "Nuts". I hand wrote the word "oh". I pressed the solid squirrel stamp into the Grid stamp to get the textured squirrel. I added glossy accents to the stamped images to give them a little shine. Some twine, ribbon and dew drops finishes the card.

Oh, this totally makes me smile! I love everything about this card -- the plaid background and that sweet little squirrel! Great take on the sketch!
Super cute card and I agree love that plaid background :) It's not to hard to get lost from blogging over the summer with all the other activities going on don't be to hard on yourself :)
