Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday 214: Stamping with Neutrals

Dawn McVey has a wonderful video showing how to make neutral colors shine in your projects for the latest Make it Monday challenge.  Check it out here.

I decided to make a rustic card for the challenge.  I stamped Papertrey Ink's Turning a New Leaf  in Memento Rich Cocoa onto rustic cream card stock.  I just love the little flecks that add such interest to this card stock!  My PTI craft ink pad needs refilled but in this case the semi-dry pad was perfect for stamping a lighter set of leaves.  I added berries from PTI's bells and boughs in PTI scarlet jewel ink.  The sentiment is from PTI's Year Round Puns stamp set also stamped in scarlet jewel ink.  The flowers are from PTI's Honey Bees stamped in PTI melon berry ink.   This is definitely an older set but I have used the various flowers from this set over and over again.  They are just the perfect size!  The card seemed a little plain so to add some "zing" I added teeny tiny bronze beads to the center of the flowers with glossy accents.

Color Throwdown #345 Sending Prayers

Do you struggle with sympathy cards?  I definitely do.   It's so important to get the right look to these card.  So when I saw THIS wonderful card by Nerina I instantly bookmarked it.   Her card is perfectly elegant...I couldn't wait to make my own version!

I decided to use Color Throwdown's newest challenge colors.

When I think of red and green colors together I think of Christmas so I was  careful not to pick any flower that resembled a poinsettia when completing my card.

I used Papertrey Ink's Harvest Berries for the focal element of the card.  Just as Nerina did I embossed the darker vines.  The red flower is from PTI's honey bees and the sentiment is from PTI's beautiful butterflies

Case This Sketch #125

I needed to get a graduation card made pronto.  So I sought out the Case This Sketch blog. Here is the sketch:

Here is what I came up with:

The 2015 background and word die cuts are files I created on my KNK.  I stamped the star from Papertrey Ink's Let Freedom Ring in the middle of each "0" and the chevrons were from Papertrey Ink's Background Basics: Diagonals Additions  I cut the letters out of regular red cardstock and covered them in glossy accents to add shine.
