Card A Day challenge

Gosh is it really the last day in November.  Where has this month gone?  I have been meaning to post a Card to the Card a Day challenge so I'd better do it before the month is over!  I think this will fall under the category celebrate Christmas since Poinsettias and Christmas goes hand in hand.

I was inspired by an awesome card by Dawn McVey.  You can see her wonderful card here.  I made a smaller A2 card so I used 1 1/4" squares and rounded the opposite corners with the Zutter Round It All.  This is an amazing tool.  I was able to round about 7 squares at one time! The greeting a stamp by Studio G.  The scallop comes from my Card Base 6 file.  The poinsettia is from my newest digital stamp Poinsettia Bouquet.  I colored it with copics and placed gold seed beads in the middle adhered with diamond glaze. I love those gold beads!  I purchased them on a whim ages ago and am sure glad I did.  Below is a close up...sorry about the blurry photo as it was a scan but hopefully you can get the idea.

If you would like to purchase any of the files I used please click on the previews below.
Thanks for stopping by! Please come back again!

Thanksgiving sale and new files.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I know I need that little reminder to count my blessings.  Often I get soo wrapped up in daily life and complain about the kids fighting, doing chores and rushing here and there.  However, I need to be glad I have two healthy active kids, clothes to wash, food to eat and a good vehicle to allow me to go where I need to.  I am very blessed indeed!  I am also thankful for all my internet friends.  Life just wouldn't be the same without you!  Thanks sooo much for stopping by and taking interest in my blog.

Okay I know it is technically Black Friday.  You know what though...I don't like that term for today.  I don't know it seems soo dreary and filled with doom.   This day should be one filled with the joy that comes from giving gifts and getting a good deal while doing so.   Therefore,  I am having a sale but mine is a Thanksgiving sale.  Feel free to stop by my store today.  I have a variety of items that will help with your Christmas projects that are quick to make and won't break the bank.

I also managed to get some new Christmas files into my store.  I had a vision of this candy cane bouquet in my head for quite some time and it is great to finally put it to paper.  I think it would lovely gracing a card or decorating a gift.  The berries would look great with glitter, flocking or dew drops added to them.  This is a digital stamp so as soon as you purchase you will be able to print and play with it instantly.  No waiting for the stamp to arrive in the mail as you do rubber stamps.  It is also great that you can make this image smaller to fit your project perfectly. Click on the image to purchase.
I don't know about you but I get my focal image ready for my card and then wonder what I am going to do for a sentiment.  Sometimes I don't want a simple word sentiment but something equally as great as my focal image.  So I designed these Christmas Tickets to enhance my cards.  They would equally well for gift package too and scrapbook pages.  Click on the image to purchase.
I designed these tickets so you can color the accent graphics or you can simply print the whole ticket in color onto a neutral cardstock.  These make a great fast accents for those last minute projects.  You can also connect the tickets and adhere them in a row for a border too.  Click on image to purchase.

If you aren't into digital stamps and would rather use your cutter to enhance your projects...well...I have the perfect file for you.  Check out my Christmas sentiments.  Click on the image to purchase.
Oh and I know some of you got a new Zing recently.  Lucky you...I'm sooo jealous! I am in the process of converting all my files to MTC software.  However, if you see a file you would like just go ahead and purchase it in any format.  Send me your invoice at shellysart@verizon.net and I will e-mail you the MTC format ASAP.  If you are in the market for a new machine.....I have special offer for you.  I am giving anyone who orders the Zing and inputs this coupon code ShellysArtFREEZingFiles when ordering the Zing from Paperthreads 10 free files.  Click here to order.  You will receive the 10 files listed here via e-mail when the Zing is completely paid for.

Adoree had a special Thanksgiving meal at her preschool on Wednesday.  She made it sound sooo fun I wish I were invited.  They had chicken nuggets instead of turkey which probably was way easier to serve 30 4 year olds.  They did crafts, sang songs and read  stories.  She made a pilgrim hat and I just couldn't resist showing you.
Sorry for the crooked photo...she still looks cute though!  The little tag around her neck is supposed to be a feather that states she is thankful for family.  Tyler wrote that he is thankful for family too in his turkey project.  Hmmm I should remind them of this when they are fighting.  LOL!

Tyler celebrated his 8th birthday on the 17th of this month.  (How in the world did he get soo old?!)  He wanted to have a roller skating party just with his friends so my parents decided to come up to celebrate and go out for Chinese food a few weeks ago.  Tyler decided he wanted a pumpkin pie instead of a cake for this celebration.  My hubby makes the most wonderful pie crust so he made two delicious pies and Tyler put candles in the one.  He couldn't decide how he wanted the candles so we had plenty of holes in it by the time he was done.  Oh well..it tasted great!
I am using hubby's camera and I don't have a very steady hand and it seems to me the photos turn out blurry. I love my camera but it is ancient. It has a compact flash card. My cord to transfer the photos to the computer is shot. I have a card reader but the pins keep bending and then won't work. So one of these days I hope to find a cord. The camera still has a lot of life in it and I just hate to give it up!

If you have been following my blog you know that this Summer we decided to renovate our porch.  Well we are still working on it.  We got the primer down on the floor last weekend and we are hoping to paint today.  So I am crossing my fingers the weather stays okay with no rain for the next couple of days.  So I've gotta run!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Please come back again.  Have fun shopping!
