It's a Cyber Monday sale 40% off all my designs not only today but tomorrow also.  So end the month with a burst of creativity by heading to my store and picking out something to make!  Click here to go shopping.  Before you leave though I'd like to share with you a few projects from my a group of very talented ladies!

First up is this lovely box by Lisa using my Wreath Box.  I just love the colors she used and how she added a gift tag.  Placing her goodies in a cello bag made them easy to remove.   What a lovely gift Lisa made!

Leave it to Sue Shaff to come up with an "out of the box" so to speak way of using this file.  Check out the photo below to see what I mean.

Don't you just love it.  I can see carrying these for Christmas caroling! If you'd like to purchase this box and see what you can come up with click on the words above the preview.

I have quite a few more projects to share with you but I must go as I have an appointment.  Oh but I wanted to let you know that my new file Christmas Sentiments is in the store now.  Yeah!  Click on the words above the preview to purchase.

It's not too late to save! 40% off all my designs now through Nov 30, 2010 and an exploding box!

Just in case you were out shopping yesterday or enjoying a late Thanksgiving it's not too late to save on my designs.  You can get 40% off through 11/30/2010.   There's still time to get those handmade gifts ready! Stop by my store today by clicking here.  Don't know what to make...I have some ideas for you.  Check out some fab projects by Lisa and Sue below.

Explosion Box

All the projects I'm about to show you involve the explosion box above.  Click on the words above the preview if you'd like to purchase.  This box really makes a great gift.  The box actually becomes the present.  A 2 for 1 kinda thing.  When you take off the lid the side "explode" leaving you with panels that can be decorated with photos and embellishments.  There is even a 3-D tree that can be attached to the middle if you choose as an added surprise.

First up here is a closer look at CDT Lisa's wonderful version of the box that is depicted in the store.  You can see the outside in the store preview above.  She did an awesome job!  In addition to the Explosion Box she used my Build a Wreath and Christmas Word Charms files.

Above is the inside view of the bottom panel and the next layer and also a close up of the 3-D tree.  What is nice about this box is you don't need to glue these panels together if you choose not to because the lid of the box keeps the panels secure when you close it.  I just love how Lisa stamped words on the photos too.  It's hard to see but there is a dove behind the tree.  This proves you don't have to use just photos on the panels.  You could even write the lyrics to a song or verses to your favorite poem.

Sue realized that the Explosion Box had 12 panels.   So she decided to do a 12 days of Christmas box.  How FUN is that!  I think my kids would adore looking at a box like this time and time again.  Hmm maybe I should get Sue to make me one!  LOL!  Check out her amazing box below.  Oh and you can find the 12 days of Christmas file by Paperthread's Designs here

If you like the bow on top of the boxes.  You can get it in a separate file.  Click on the word above the preview to get it.  It makes great ornaments too (I'll  have to show you that example later when I get the file I used for it in the store).

Accordion Folded Flower

If you would like the Christmas Word Charms file Lisa used in her box.  Please click on the words above the preview.

Christmas Word Charms

Okay now I've gotta get this house clean and then it's time to make this house look more festive!  I just love decorating for Christmas!  Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your weekend!

Black Friday special 55% off all my designs and yet a few more projects by Shelly M

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving.  Retailers all around are having specials today for this national shopping day.  Does anyone know why they call this day Black Friday?    I saw some great deals in the Wal-mart Ad but am still undecided if I want to go or not.  The sale started last night at midnight so I doubt if what I want is still available.  Not sure I want to fight the crowds today. The one advantage to living in a small town is there aren't as many people shopping as there is in a large city! Even so... I am considering staying at home getting some cleaning done and working on a some homemade gifts.  If you want to do the same I have all my designs on sale for a whopping 55% off!  I have many cutting files that make great gifts like my tea caddy, explosion box, wreath box, chocolate nugget treat purse, Christmas Candy Bar Wrapper, lollipop bouquet, and notepad with cover.  Come by my store today and see if anything catches your eye by clicking here.   Before you leave though I have some inspiring ideas from Shelly M to share with you.

This is a non traditional wreath.  I love the white ornaments with the brown inking.  The embossing and microbead details are fab too!

This little card would be a great one to quickly make up and send to all your  friends and family.  I love the muted background paper against the bold colors of the poinsettia. Both projects use my Build a Wreath file.  I created this file 2 years ago and I am still amazed by all the different ways people have used this file!  You guys are all sooo talented!  If you want to try your hand at making a wreath your way please click on the words above the preview to purchase.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!  Oh and many of the other  Paperthreads Designers are having sales also.  You are welcome to visit my store and theirs in your pajamas!  We don't mind! LOL!  Stay comfy and stop by today...but if you are busy I will still be having 40% off the rest of the weekend too!

Happy Turkey Day and 40% off all my designs AND a few more projects by Shelly M.

Happy Turkey Day!  I hope everyone gets to indulge in a yummy Thanksgiving meal today.  I also hope that at some point in the day you will count your blessings.  I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and son (who bakes the most delicious pumpkin pies) and a sweet, spirited daughter.  I am thankful to have a job that I love and that enables me to stay at home.  I am thankful to have a vehicle again!  I am lucky to know soo many wonderful people who care about little ol' me!  Basically, I'm one lucky lady and I want to thank anyone and everyone I know!

Well Thanksgiving being here means that Christmas is just around the corner and before you know it you'll be celebrating and enjoying Christmas dinner!  Be ready this year and save some money too by making homemade gifts. I have several items in my store that will help you with this task.  Today my section of the Paperthreads store is on sale for 40% off.  Click HERE to go shopping.  Pssst...I am running an even better sale on Black Friday...55% off!  Don't know what to make then keep reading.  I have some fabulous projects by my newest team member Shelly M that are sure to inspire you!

Shelly just can't get enough of my snowflakes!  I'm thrilled she likes them soooo much!  Here are two projects combining snowflakes from my Build a Wreath and Winter Penguin files.  They are super cute and super fast to make!

These little cards are merely 3 x 3 inches.  I just love the use of white with a single color.  What a great way to use all those embossing folders we just HAD to have huh!   They would be perfect to tuck into a gift.  I love the shimmery paper Shelly used on the purple ornament!  (This effect can also be achieved by spraying the ornaments with glimmer mist too).  The pop dots under the ornament are the perfect finishing touch!

Mittens seem to be all the rage lately.  I just love Shelly's take on this popular shape!  Again there are those snowflakes looking fab in sliver and white with a single jewel in the center.  Go to yesterdays post for even more projects from Shelly using those snowflakes.  If you would like to purchase either file click on the words above the preview.

I have been super busy lately but I did manage to get one new file done.  It will be a big help in getting those Xmas cards finished.  It should show up in the store soon. Here is a sneak peek!

See lots of nice greetings for not only cards but gift tags too.  I have snow family tic tac holders I'm working on next. I have also been collecting things for the blog candy I'm giving away when I get to 200 files in my store.  It's going to be GREAT!  Stay tuned....

I'll be praying everyone who is traveling today arrives safely to their destinations and then safely back home again!  Savor your life!  Thanks for stopping by!

Announcing a new member of my Creative Design Team and Thanksgiving sale coming soon!

Howdy,
I am proud to announce Shelly Mercado has agreed to join my creative design team.  I am sooo happy Shelly said yes!  I was blown away by all her projects when she first started posting things on the Paperthreads gallery a few months ago.  How could I not ask this wonderful lady who has the same wonderful name as me join my team!  Here is a photo of the beautiful lady and a little bio.

Hi, I'm Shelly (aka PopsicleToes or ShellyPop on Paperthreads) and I've been paper crafting for almost 5 years.  I am inspired by all the creativity that I have seen and hope to do the same for others.  I live in MN and am incredibly blessed with three beautiful children and a husband, who is my biggest supporter.  I am honored to be a part of Shelly's Creative Design Team and look forward to sharing some projects with you.  Happy cutting!

Shelly has shared sooooo many awesome projects with me that I couldn't possible post them all today.  I will share a few today and post more throughout the holiday weekend.  First up we have two projects made with my tea caddy file.

I love the vintage feel to this tea set.  I don't do vintage well.  It always looks like I drug my project through the mud!  LOL!  I'm glad Shelly does a great job with the vintage look.  She made a tiny little rose out of punches to sit on top the flowers that comes in the file.  I love the little stick pin, pearls and sheer ribbon..perfect touch indeed!

Shelly had so much fun with my tea caddy file that she decided to do another.  This one is near and dear to my heart as I love anything with snowmen and/or snowflakes on it.  Shelly used the snowflakes from my Winter Penguin and Build a Wreath file.  I love the snowflakes layered like that and the jewel centers!  As Shelly mentioned what  great gift this would make filled with peppermint tea!  Shelly also made a great card using the same design. If you would like to purchase the tea caddy...click HERE

Shelly was on a roll making cards.  She created another great one using the same snowflakes as above but this time she added the candy canes from my build a wreath file to make a fabulous shaker card.

Here is what Shelly had to say about this card.  "I cut the overlay for the candy cane with ScorTape and used Dazzling Diamonds and MS Red glitter to make them stand out. MS chunky glitter was used for the snow and the window frame was cut with Nesties."  I have yet to try the Scor Tape trick but I want to.  Sounds like it is a super easy way to add glitter to the images!  Hmmm you know what after looking at this image I bet you could do one candy cane and add a North pole sign to it for a Santa type card.

Okay how about one more card before you bake that pie!  I promise you it's worth looking at!

See didn't I tell you...it is the cutest!  This card is shaped like a bowl.  Wouldn't it be perfect to give with a batch of Holiday cookies?  I love how Shelly added the two candy canes sticking out of the bowl....makes it  look soo very real!  I loved that Christmas tree paper Shelly used and just HAD to have it..being the paper attic that I AM!  It was last year's My Minds Eye Christmas paper and I finally tracked some down on Etsy.  It should arrive in my mailbox any day now...I can't wait!  Anyway, the penguin is from my Winter Penguin file. If you would like to purchase either of the files Shelly used click on the words above the previews.

Monkey Banner

CDT member Lisa Lindesmith has been working hard at creating Xmas cards.  I have three beauties to share with you today.

I just love the non traditional color scheme of this card.  The metallic features make everything look sooo regal and elegant!  Simply stunning Lisa!  Lisa used my swirly ornaments file to make these gorgeous cards.  Click on the words above the preview to purchase at 30% off for the month of November.

Swirly Ornaments

On the flip side Lisa also created a wonderfully whimsical Christmas card using my Build a Wreath file.   I love how she used patterned paper for the poinsettias and wrapped the cording around the wreath for extra dimension!  Those button centers are soo cute too!

Click on the words below to purchase my Build a Wreath file and make your own wreath.  This file is great because just by changing the papers you can make a whimsical wreath like Lisa's or an elegant or even a vintage one.  The choice is totally up to you!  This file is also a steal at 30% off the whole month of November.

Build a Wreath

Happy Birthday Tyler and Toby!  These two men in my life share birthdays this month!  No fair I have to wait until Jan for mine!  LOL!  Poor Adoree has to wait until May for hers!  That's okay we like to have her party outside...well at least we try so far every year it has rained and we all huddle onto our porch!

I don't think my hubby is as excited about his birthday as he is at graduating from college soon in December.  He is counting down the days and I must admit I'm excited too as it will be good to  have Daddy back full time!  It is very hard to hold a full time job and take college classes plus attend to the kids and day to day life all the time.  I am proud of him and can't wait to see that bachelor degree!

I can't believe our "baby boy" is 7!  I find it hard to believe he is in 1st grade already too! He got his group photo taken today at school....he insisted on wearing a tie!    He is such a good boy and we are soo lucky to have him as a son!  We are having his party on Sat...I am seeing a lot of Legos in the future..he just loves these little pieces of plastic!  We let him pick out his own present this past weekend so on Wednesday after patiently waiting all those days he got to open and put together Lego City Fire Station.  He did very well putting most of it together himself.  I have to say it is pretty cool with working garage doors, ladder that swivels and extends etc.  Even hubby said Legos are soo much better than they were when he was a kid.  Tyler actually has all his old Legos and he sits for hours building with them!  He doesn't care that they are "old"!  I just found out they make a Lego remote for the Wii.  We are debating getting him it for Christmas since it's kinda expensive but I just know he would love it!

Tyler wanted to take a treat to school for his birthday.  In the Taste of Home book we had they featured this recipe for "bacon and eggs candy".  The pretzel sticks are the bacon and the white chocolate with an M & M in the middle is the egg.  It did look pretty cool and tasted pretty good.  I think if we make this again though we will use little pretzel sticks as these rods took too much chocolate.  I found a website that shows you how to make these if you are interested click here

Okay past our lunch time again!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Frugal Fridays: Lollipop Bouquet $1.00 today only and post it note holder project

Hi everyone,
Well, Halloween is over..Thanksgiving is coming and Christmas will be here in a  blink of an eye!  With all the festivities that occur at the end of the year those months just fly by don't they!  I vow to get ready for Christmas early this year as I'm always making last minute gifts.  I plan on enjoying Christmas this year instead of frantically rushing around..who is with me?!

I have a file on special for $1.00 today that might be helpful with your holiday gift giving and/or decorating.  My Lollipop Bouquet file is only $1.00.  Hurry though the price will magically disappear at midnight EST today 11/12/2010.   You could easily make this Christmas looking by using Christmas colors.  I could see it with chocolate Santa shaped lollipops too.   You could even use pencils and eraser tops to give this to a special teacher for Christmas.  Scroll down to see Sue's awesome million kisses bouquet.  Click on the words above the preview to purchase the file.
Lollipop Bouquet

Check out Sue's wonderful million kisses bouquet below.

Wasn't it brilliant of Sue to use chocolate kisses on skewers instead of lollipops?  Who wouldn't want to receive a bouquet like this?!  Love it!

If you have been following my blog you have read about these post it note holders I made for the Baltimore retreat and also as hostess gifts for crops.  Well they are having a craft sale at church and I needed something to take in for them to sell tonight.  So I made a bunch up yesterday and figured it's about time I share this wonderful project with you all.

I found the tutorial for these post it note holders from Chic' n Scratch's creative blog.  Click here to see her video tut.  I didn't stray far from the tut when making my holders but I could not find any chipboard coasters.  I considered knocking on the doors of  local bars here begging them to have pity on me and sell me a few but then I thought of something!  Yeppers the light bulb turned on bright that day!  I headed to our Dollar Tree for materials to make these holders.  I found everything but the coasters.  I was looking at the children's board books.  They looked similiar in size and sturdiness to the coasters so I decided to cut the books apart into individual coasters.  A bargain for sure as you get 3 books for $1.00 and those probably make about 15 coasters depending on how many pages are in each book. I borrowed a Zutter Round it All to make round the corners on these pages.  I was amazed at how easily it worked.  If Michelle gets more back in stock...I will be buying one!  However, the first ones I made I didn't have the Zutter so I took the pre existing rounded corner and traced it then trimmed by hand.  Works just as well!  So below are a few photos for those of you who are visual learners (like me)!

Turn this

I found these cute pens three to a pack at our Dollar Tree...I couldn't resist getting them.  You can also buy the pens with the clear barrels and cut a piece of paper to fit the barrel and slide it in...that way everything matches!

Oh and I noticed the board books were pretty glossy.  I was afraid the adhesive wouldn't stick to them so I sanded my pages down a bit to give them some tooth to apply the adhesive too.  Also keep in mind since you aren't using coasters you will have to cover both sides of your board book pages with paper.  I choose a cardstock for the back as I figured it would take more wear and tear then the thinner paper.

Oh and one more tip.  I found that the little zyron X sticker maker is great for that piece of paper that wraps around the binder clip.  It's very important you have lots of glue on every inch of that paper so it smoothly goes around the binder clip and the X does a great job with this!

Above are a few other ones I made for the craft sale.  Sorry the photo isn't very good.  I'm in a hurry as we promised to take Tyler out for his birthday.  Last year we took him to this Japanese restaurant where the chefs cook in front of you on this big grill..they do tricks and stuff.  Tyler just loved it and asked to go there again.  I think we are starting a tradition here!  So I must go!  I hope you enjoyed the post it note holders.  I'm sooo glad I stumbled across Chic' n Scratches video!  They are soo easy to make..a great way to use up paper and ribbon scraps and very inexpensive too!  I had a blast making them!  I hope they sell well at the craft show.

I do have some Christmas themed files in the works including sentiments, brother, sister ornaments, and tic tac holders so stay tuned you'll be seeing them soon!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fab weekend!
